Re: October Challenge 2023 Discussion Thread

Remember when Harry Doyle had at least one compliment to Willy Mayes Hayes' awful between-season movie in Major League 2? That it was in focus? Yeah...this movie can't even boast that.

There's Nothing Out There was an amusing piece of trash. Great titties on the main brunette.

Re: October Challenge 2023 Discussion Thread

This movie is what happens if you take like Paranormal Activity 3, stretch out one entire night sequence, and accidentally crop the whole movie in the least areas of focus the entire time. This piece of shit is an abomination offspring of The Babadook and Things, and somehow worse and more aggravati...

Re: October Challenge 2023 Discussion Thread

Glorious was pretty damn good. An A (let alone A+) feels too strong of a grade (I may have to sit on that) but I think it's the contender for best new-watch so far. No clear front runner, but at least a handful of A-'s so far. Lots of D ranges too. At least no F (so far). Is that the one in the shi...

Re: October Challenge 2023 Discussion Thread

If I hadn't known The Lair was a Neil Marshall film, I'd have assumed it was a SyFy movie of the week.

Re: October Challenge 2023 Discussion Thread

The Lair features much of the same flaws of Dog Soldiers (generic monster shoot'em-up, plus lots of bad soldiery one-liners), but amplified even worse.

And manages to look even cheaper.

Re: October Challenge 2023 Discussion Thread

My commute movies for today: Unhuman - a fun psuedo zombie flick from Blumhouse. I didn't expect the twist, though I appreciated it because it was feeling run-of-the-mill by that point, but at the same time I'd wish a certain outcast trope would just die. The Retaliators - in the first half I got th...

Re: October Challenge 2023 Discussion Thread

New watch The Pope's Exorcist I wanna like this more but there is just zero originality in these exorcism films. The way this steals from the Exorcist is almost shameful. C+ Definitely lack of originality in these movie. Maybe that's why I liked Crowe's fun personality in the whole ordeal, it helpe...

Re: October Challenge 2023 Discussion Thread

Just started the new Neil Marshall movie (well, 2022), The Lair.

The opening feels like Great Value Top Gun: Maverick. Hell, not even Great Value, barely Dollar Tree deal.

My dipshit friend who is supposed to come over one of these mornings for a Terrifier 1 & 2 double-header is one of the flakiest people of all time. So I might just watch them without him. No guarantee (they do have detractors, though their arguments are usually pretty weak, or just pertains to ...

Lovecraft's Inception, baby! Nolan owes some greenbacks to people. Maybe even some bluebacks.

Re: October 25th 2023

I regret to say that I work at Burger King at the moment. I can tell you all the little tidbits behind the Ghost Pepper Whopper, and how few of those orange buns we go through on a weekly basis. :P I'd ask why the burgers taste bland and watery now, but I still suspect that's just a California thin...
