Re: May 1, 2024 AD

So every year, I try to do a mini-marathon of horror films released the year previous. So for example, last year, I held the Jiggy's 2022-a-thon. This year, I was aiming to watch anywhere from 10 to 20 movies from 2023. I usually do this February, but haven't been in a big horror mood recently. That...

Re: What Are You Reading

Finished The Stand. Second time reading it.

Still not as good as It or Duma Key, not to mention Needful Things, but a decently solid, if over-long, read.

I'd like to see it, but it's not playing at my local theater. Looks like a pretty solid film, though.

Still have only seen a single Bond film. If I ever take up Tigg (I think it was him) on his first-time-watch reaction suggestion of the series, I'll let you all know. :P

Re: First Post in 8 Years

I have to admit that while I certainly remember you, I'm not sure if we ever had much of a relationship. Still, glad that you're doing well, and happy that you made your way back here.

I only pop in every now and again myself, so I definitely understand where you're coming from.

Re: December 28th 2023

So I'm drunk right now (off two Four Lokos - great cheap drunkensess) - and I wanted to say, despite the fact I'm not active here at the moment, I deeply care for the lot of you. IN truth, I'm not well mentally, and though that may mean little to many of you, I want to say that I truly appreciate th...

I had mild hope, too. :P

Seriously, though, I don't know the last legitimate and long-lasting member we've gotten, but I feel it's been years. It's a damn shame.

Re: Random Political Comments

Maybe he doesn't "steal" from any party, but brings out people who otherwise wouldn't have voted at all. Given that Biden and Trump are among some of the most unpopular nominees (assuming, of course, they become the nominees), that seems more likely to me. Personally speaking, I don't care...

Re: Random Political Comments

I refuse to vote for Biden or Trump Maryland's ballot access is historically somewhat weak. On average, if you look at the candidates who made the ballot from 2000 - 2020, discounting the GOP and Democratic nominees, you have 3.17 candidates. Write-ins look decent - Evan McMullin managed 0.35% of t...

Re: Random Political Comments

Looking forward to election day. If RFK Jr. sticks it out and gets even moderate ballot access, he could see decent results (10-20% in some states), which would at least make the election interesting. Been watching both the Republican and Democratic primaries with interest. Amusing that both parties...

Re: October Challenge 2023 Discussion Thread

Digging Up the Marrow was pretty creepy toward the end, and had an authentic feel throughout. Can't say I outright loved it, but I do think it was pretty damn effective for what it was going for.
