There's a new director's cut out, supposedly makes it fit better in the series (since it's so jarringly different, stylistically....but hey I loved that style, it was part of it's charm) so as long nothing is really left out from the old cut I'd probably be good with it.

God damnit, and that's what Stallone did. He cut out too much good shit from the OG, sweet jebus. He cut Paulie's fucking falling in the snow "They better have my comics here! How we gonna watch the Rose bowl game?" *falls* God damn!". Fucking cut Paulie's robot. "What am I doing? Getting dizzy!" Where's my dizzy scene asshole. And worst of fucking all, he cut the classic opening.

To be honest, as the biggest Rocky 4 geek around, it was quite jarring.

It's not horrible. But I'm treating this cut as Stallone having some fun, and a shining reason you don't go back and fuck with gold.

What more can I do? I say pick some flicks and the best I get is a new cut of Rocky IV. I'm basically to the point of offering a tuggy to anyone willing to suggest something. To me the flicks do not matter as much as the participation. I would watch anything as long as some of us were there to watch it.

What about The Last Matinee (2021) on Shudder ? It does have subtitles but looks fun. I think it is only 88 min. Reviews said fans of Giallo would enjoy.
