Also had no issue with the darkness (it's Batman, it *should* be dark unless you're going for the camp stuff) either, and could make out everything fine. There's been want for Riddler to take on a Zodiac/Serial Killer vibe for over 20 years, if he wanted to be taken seriously as a villain, even brought up in Wizard Magazine. I think the Saw movies only helped fuel this desire until finally, Reeves got around to giving it to us.Slaughterhouserock wrote: ↑Tue Apr 19, 2022 12:55 amI watched it earlier. Didn't have an issue with darkness, so it may have been whatever copy you got, though the chase scene wasn't exactly filmed in a way that anything would be very visible anyway. I thought it was good, but a bit odd. Never pegged the RIddler for a Jigsaw wannabe. And there were some weird plotholes. Nothing major, but shit like the batmobile being right next to the drug warehouse even though it sounds like a fucking jet taking off when he drives the thing.Reign in Blood wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 10:44 pm That movie has some serious problems, but thank fuck for D's siggy, because the cinematography, lightning was so dark and camerawork so jumpy, 5 minutes into the chase and I can't tell what the fucking Batmobile is. Is it cool, no, fucked if I know. You done fucked up I can't see the cool shit. Rest Of Bat flicks are dark too, this was Alien vs Predator fail.
I know I've been comparing it to Seven since the trailers came out, in a positive way.
I didn't think anything of the Batmobile by the warehouse not being able to sneak up, I just naturally assumed there was a stealth mode or something on it like previous batmobiles. My WTF thought was more: if Batman dropped to the ground after they opened fire in plain sight, how did he sneak off TO the Batmobile without anyone, noticing? I know "he's Batman" but that was a bit of a stretch since he was right in front of everyone.
I dig the movie, but definitely don't think of it as the masterpiece Gen Z is trying to make it out to be.

Copy was pristine, it's the chase, it was dark and too "Lego Batman Movie" for me. The batmobile reveal in every other film was dope, I had to wait until they settled down to get what was going down with the car. But then with the chase, it was good enough, but what's with the tonal shifts? Crazy shit went down, Batman comes at the Penguin stomping, penguin is shitting bricks, devil is coming for him kick ass scene. Bam, "what is this bad cop and batshit cop, get outta here ya guineas!. Gonna leave me with my dick in my hands?" Umm, what? I didn't know we were transitioning to Tango and Cash on a dime. They did that a couple times.DancesWithWerewolves wrote: ↑Tue Apr 19, 2022 8:44 amAlso had no issue with the darkness (it's Batman, it *should* be dark unless you're going for the camp stuff) either, and could make out everything fine. Riddler, fine with a more John Doe/Zodiac/Jigsaw approach, but Batman has a huge gallery that are more suited for the dark shit, Riddler should be somewhat jovial imo, his "costume" was balls, Penguin was the one with the parental/orphan shit, and all his riddles sucked. I did like breaking the god dam, though.
Colin was the standout as Penguin obviously, Catwoman was fine, Pattinson looks good as Batman, didn't like the overt emo approach to him and Wayne but he was fine.
And I dug they were taking a page out of the Arkham games.

Could be skewed stats, but florida is pretty shitty. Someone was shot and killed in my front yard in florida, I was robbed half a dozen times, violence is pretty common. So outside of certain high-risk areas, I doubt it's worse.Tiggnutz wrote: ↑Tue Apr 19, 2022 4:23 am Sounds like L.A. is getting safer like Baltimore.

Yeah, I dunno anything about Batman outside of movies/tv, as I've never been a DC fan, so I had no idea about any of that.DancesWithWerewolves wrote: ↑Tue Apr 19, 2022 8:44 am Also had no issue with the darkness (it's Batman, it *should* be dark unless you're going for the camp stuff) either, and could make out everything fine. Could be a silent mode, but there's no hint at that being the case. Him getting in the car was another thing. There were other weird things like that throughout that just didn't make much sense, but they didn't effect the plot, so I wasn't too anal about it.

Yeah, nothing is shown that it has a silent mode (that scene is supposed to be a surprise, to be fair), I just assumed it was there.

Re: April 19th 2022
Even though it took a lot of work, money, effort, I think I may be giving my custom-made flying V away. I never felt right selling it because it's custom-built, but this is family that's trying to get a band started (2nd cousin, inspired by groups like L7), so I feel comfortable giving it to family. I've never met the girl, but her dad is my closest cousin.

I'm not that broken up about it. I've found the V not that comfortable for me to play or practice, worse when sitting.
