Anyone have any experience with debt consolidation? I finally found a job, but I've dug myself into a fucking hole that I can't get out of. Looking into debt consolidation to alleviate some of the burden, but don't know if it's effective or if there's anything I need to look out for.

We did a debt consolidation loan and it worked great for us but I think it all depends on what sort of interest rate you can get on it. Having one reasonable interest rate payment instead of several high interest payments is nice.

Wish I could help but I'm also in a massive debt hole (my AES student loan outweighs the credit cards, but both are large). I did just finish paying down two credit cards this weekend, so that feels nice.

I tried getting one of those credit cards that you can transfer the balances to that's supposed to help, but the limit they gave on it doesn't really do squat.

Got a meeting scheduled tomorrow to try and figure something out. Hopefully it's better than the shit I'm dealing with right now.
