Yeah that looks generic as fuck...

I'm disappointed because even if the follow ups were weaker, I loved the vibe DGG brought to his Halloween trilogy. Here he just seems like a hired gun sleepwalking through this.

I love the set up in the story though, with the two girls getting lost in the woods and coming back possessed. Other than that, it just looks like every other possession film after the 4th Exorcist movie. Except The Rite. The Rite kicked ass.

Of course I'm not completely writing it off. Even now it still looks better than 2 and 4, but it is just a trailer, and it could just be a bad trailer. I'll wait until release to gauge the reception.

Pretty much agree with it all. Great premise. The makeup looks good and has a real Exorcist feel, but it seems like every other modern generic possession movie. The reason the original worked so well is because of what you didn't see. And this trailer alone has too much action going on.
