Well that sucks balls.Jason wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 12:46 am I just threw my lower back out so badly that I went into cerebral palsy phase like in Wolf of Wall Street. I bent down and stretched my lower back for a second, my daughter wanted to be picked up so I picked her up. Seconds later I had to put her down immediately and collapsed on the floor. Tried to stand, could barely move. Had to crawl like a crippled person 20 feet to the carpet so I can have something soft to lay on. Standing was impossible for about 5 minutes. I am able to stand now but my back is killing me. Took some Tylenol and about to pop in another movie. I've never had back pain like that before except when I bruised my rib cage in 2009.
What the fuck man

Hopefully it connects correctly. It's been good for the last few months...but never know if it'll suck at connecting tonight.
Re: October 20th 2023
I just don't want the films to be ones I already watched this October

Tigg, there is deal on Assassin's Creed Valhalla, how does it stack up against AC Odyssey and the like?

Killers of the Flower Moon is the best movie I’ve seen in a long time. Going back tonight
I might give my life for Scorsese to be able to make 10 more movies. As long as I can see them

Wow, that is some hot high praise. Scorsese is my favorite director, no one has an eye like him, I love his details etc. But I struggled mightily to get through the Irishman and I've heard this is likely similar, 3 and a half hours... everything really better be up my alley and simply put, I don't think this is.Headhunter wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 1:47 pm Killers of the Flower Moon is the best movie I’ve seen in a long time. It's a long long game I played it for what seemed forever than I just didn't want to anymore. It's really fun but I just never felt like I was getting anywhereReign in Blood wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 12:56 pm Tigg, there is deal on Assassin's Creed Valhalla, how does it stack up against AC Odyssey and the like?

I trust that it is phenomenal but with a runtime like that I'll wait until I can watch at home.Reign in Blood wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 2:00 pmWow, that is some hot high praise. Re: October 20th 2023
Scorsese has some bangers, but those kind of movies have been done to death and get less historically accurate over time. I'll wait for bluray if they decide to bring it to physical media

I read the book before Scorsese picked up the option on it, and it couldn’t be more historically accurate. It is a true story and an insane one.

Well, this is gonna be an embarrassing admission...Headhunter wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 4:18 pm I read the book before Scorsese picked up the option on it, and it couldn’t be more historically accurate. It is a true story and an insane one.
Admittedly I only read one bland plot outline somewhere a while back and did no digging on the movie whatsoever. Had no idea this was about the Osage takeover and completely forgot about the title of the book after I conflated it in my head with Killing of a Sacred Deer when that movie came out. Lmao. What's more is I actually bought the book the same day I bought Barr McClellan's book about LBJ's role in the JFK assassination.
I'm making a theater trip ASAP.

Re: October 20th 2023
I think everyone should see it even if it’s not their thing but it’s not a cocaine movie like Goodfellas, Casino, The Departed or The Wolf of Wall Street. I doubt he ever makes that movie again. This is definitely more in the vein of The Irishman and Silence, just a slow building sense of dread. The acting, writing, set design, cinematography are A+. It feels like a culmination of a lot of his different movies and ideas and he does still pull from the bag of tricks you like.Reign in Blood wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 2:00 pmWow, that is some hot high praise. It’s fucking long though. It is. 3.5 hours and doesn’t fly. It’s a lot of movie. It’s too overwhelming to ever be boring though. Idk what to tell you, Scorsese makes exclusively long movies now and isn’t cutting anything he has to have.

Nothing you gotta tell me. Scorsese could make 18 hour movies. I'll watch, just not hardcore enough to line up.Headhunter wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 6:10 pm It’s fucking long though.
