LMAO. Guess I have to insist they remove those shows now to be logically consistent.Tiggnutz wrote:There car was called the General Lee.showa58taro wrote:I'm not familiar with the Dukes. Re: More destruction of historical statues and monuments
well, we've come to some agreement then. the statues are not wrong. if you feel that removing them will stop the wrong, i hope that you're right. and that this censorship and vandalism does actually work to stop racism and bigotry, and that it does not take more and more censorship as an effort to stop the racism and bigotry.showa58taro wrote: True. The statues aren't wrong because of what they make Nazis do. Nazis are wrong because of what Nazis do.

i can point to proof that it is actually happening, and that's a fallacy. nice logic there. have a good night.showa58taro wrote:You've literally just used the fallacy to describe the fallacy you're not using. Sadly this has been awesome but I have an early start. Need to sleep. Later Z, Tigg.

Good night brother
Re: More destruction of historical statues and monuments
Ironically, the Dukes were benevolent liberals who spent their days fighting injustice where they found it. Amazing how the perception of the flag changed since that show was on the air, despite the flag being long defunct.

Re: More destruction of historical statues and monuments
WWII American soldiers flew the Confederate flag on their war tanks as they rolled in and pummeled the nazis.
The flag means different things to different people. I imagine as a Southerner, hearing some fag throw a phony tantrum and label them racists is pretty annoying.

Re: More destruction of historical statues and monuments
I support a ban on hijabs because I do not support the oppression of women. It doesn't get much lower than a culture that shames a woman for merely showing her face.

As a proud Southerner, I kinda enjoy the tantrums.Jason wrote:WWII American soldiers flew the Confederate flag on their war tanks as they rolled in and pummeled the nazis.

Re: More destruction of historical statues and monuments
The hijab thing for me is like this wear what you want but your I.D. will have your full face and if an establishment says no face cover than you need to just deal with that.
Re: More destruction of historical statues and monuments
agreed. telling them they can't wear it altogether, is the same as telling them they must wear it. at least that's how i feel.Tiggnutz wrote:The hijab thing for me is like this wear what you want but your I.D. will have your full face and if an establishment says no face cover than you need to just deal with that.
Re: More destruction of historical statues and monuments
Defending the hijab because some woman may like it is like defending slavery because a slave liked it.
There is coercion at play.

Just like prostitution, you have to look beyond the moment it happens and into all the coercion and abuse that leads up to the act.zombie wrote:coerce the coerced, foo. oppress the oppressed.Foo wrote:Defending the hijab because some woman may like it is like defending slavery because a slave liked it.
