Damn I may never watch this. I've rarely seen such unified hatred of a movie before.

I'm blessed with an other-worldly gift of knowing when a movie is going to be shit before it even comes out. This one made the cut.

Right. I hated it and haven't even seen it. I do things solely out of spite on occassion. This is one of those times.

Yep. A friend asked if it was like at least a good movie in spite of being a terrible adaption, like Batman Returns, and I was like "fuuuuuck no."

Another friend asked which I was disappointed with more, The Dark Tower or Sucker Punch. At first I replied "About the same." Then I added "but you could at least edit Sucker Punch down to a kick ass 30 minute movie." This friend was stunned because we both saw Sucker Punch when it came out and we both hated and rage-ate after watching it, lol.
They didn't just shit on the source material, they used it as a fucking tampon, squeezed out the drippings, shit on that, then force-fed it to some mentally challenged fucker that eventually wrote the script. It was almost incomprehensible to me, and I've read the books about a dozen times, so I can't imagine what someone who's never read them would get out of it.
This.

Also, fan-fucking-tastic simile

To be fair, that mentally challenged fucker that wrote the script also wrote the scripts to Lost In Space and Batman & Robin...that really was the biggest warning sign to me, lol.

But alas, I can't really critique something unless I put myself through it. It's unfair otherwise.

I noticed that after the fact. He's got a good batch of shit films under his belt, and this was another notch.

Same. What drew me was that it was supposed to be a continuation of the books, rather than a straight adaptation. So when I saw odd things in the trailer, I chalked it up to that.

I'm kinda surprised they still plan on making the show and that King is hoping for a sequel.
