Only good news of the day is I didn't need emergency surgery to save the teste. It's still getting blood flow despite RandyMarshTesticleWheelBarrow.jpg.
I'm not allowing myself to be optimistic about it (getting money back). I paid a few dollars extra to get the highest insurance as it pertains to me being at fault for a traffic collision. I was not at fault for it, but I do believe I have the GAP insurance, which should mean the bike is fully covered and since I am not at fault it should be a great sign, but with the way my luck has been over the years I imagine I will get screwed in some form...

• 25 years old, discovered to have a rare blood condition that causes clotting, medication for life.
• Shortly afterward discovered my spleen was enlarged, underwent countless medical tests that kept me out of work for three years only to find that it was apparently some fluke thing, even though the doctors were certain I had some kind of a cancer.
• Finally able to work. Get a commercial driving license and a job, one month into it I get a blood clot in my lung that caused me to miss another five months off of work.
• Return to work, only to have my cement mixer tip over on me and nearly kill me due to improper ground inspection of the construction site (if any of you ever visit the Big Bear zoo, just know I almost died there :p).
• Dude commits a felony hit and run and gets away without even a fine, causing damages I'm forced to pay for.
• Get a ticket for crossing a double yellow where there is no double yellow, fight it in court only to get stiffed anyway.
• Get another ticket for driving without a side mirror, the same side mirror that was destroyed in the hit and run that I got screwed over with.
• Finally say fuckitall and buy my dream bike, get a great deal on it, only for it to be totaled and nearly die on it 8 days in.

I hate to be "that guy" and rant and pull the woe-is-me bullshit. But when I sit back and think about it, it's just kind of surreal the bad luck that's hit me the last few years. Just cannot seem to catch one break in life.

And the Rockies lost their opening day game. What next, yo?

It was a pretty miraculous feat I did of avoiding the guy that caused me to crash. Picture this: I am on a main road with 6 lanes, with 3 lanes in each direction. I am in the center lane of the 3-lane road. I notice up ahead that traffic is at a dead stop in the right lane, and I am going full speed, about 45-50mph on a 50mph road. I wanted no part of being near that stopped traffic going full speed, so I decided to switch lanes into the far left lane to be safe. At the exact moment I'm switching lanes in the far left lane, a car, doing 3 mph pulls a double lane change from the far right lane into the far left lane. I see he's gonna be coming into my lane and there is almost nothing I can do about avoiding it, I have to apply full break pressure. Both my front and back tire lock up, I'm keeping the steering wheel straight, the rear tire is jackknifing, and I am no doubt going to slam sideways into the back of this dude doing almost 40 mph. I am about 40 feet away when I decide to bail out of the braking situation, so I let off the brakes, get the bike straight. After the bike is corrected, I am now about 10 feet away from the back of this dude doing 30-40 mph, I somehow am able to swerve my bike to the left of him because he was not quite fully in the left lane yet. I get around him barely, apparently only nicking his driver side mirror. Because I had to bail out of the braking situation and go with the swerve option, I am now approaching a pickup truck at 30 mph that is towing a small trailer. My only two options at this point are to either do another maneuver and lane-split the double yellow line separating the direction of the traffic and risk a potential head on, or just try for the brakes and hope I can get the bike stopped in time. In the heat of the moment, I go with option 2, because I had no idea what oncoming traffic looked like beyond this trailer. I get the bike slowed down to about 10 mph before hitting the back of it, flying over the handlebars and landing in the back of the trailer. Despite only doing about 10 mph on impact, the bike still looks to be totaled. But if I weren't able to do maneuver around the car that cut me off, I surely would've been hurt a hell of a lot worse than I am now. The guy that cut me off was apologetic, but seemed more bummed that his insurance rates will go up. He told me he just didn't see me, I came out of nowhere, told me he was just glad I wasn't hurt. A police officer heard the accident, but didn't see it. He immediately took a report from the guy that cut me off, and before I could get his information, he was already gone.

Insurance is giving me the option of a 500 dollar deductible, where they will cover the full damage of the bike, or I can contact the guy and get his insurance information to see what they will cover from it. But I will have to call the police department, because he only gave them his information.
