Yes! And another loss on the first round. I'll take it, brotha!

Dude.....our defensive line talent is the best I've ever seen for the Bengals. I mean....I've seen better......but not for my team. It's unreal how good the kids are playing.
Yeah, that D-line is a really nice group. Lawson was a steal.

Offense could be as good as it's been with Dalton too. Offensive line improvement, Ross hopefully contributing and a healthy Eifert. Also think Mixon has a big year. It's a really, really talented team. They will challenge Pittsburgh for the North.
Haha.....true....but we Go 11-5......Steelers finish the season barely over .500, and beat us in the first round of the playoffs. This is the first year Lewis has had complete control. I mean, I'm not the biggest fan of his, but it's always been Mike Brown. Ugh
I am sure Marvin Lewis really earned that promotion.
They are a small town team that bleeds free agents constantly, can't bring in marquee players ever yet have had a recent stretch of five consecutive playoff appearances. Realistically they couldn't do any better. They are typically well-coached and have drafted well in recent years.

Marvin Lewis is fine. Find a new slant.
I can't believe we got Preston Brown and Cordon. That never happens. Have you seen Ogbuighi (sp?) play? He is probably the worst offensive tackle I've ever seen. However, the Bengals have always had great tackles. Even in the 90s.

It's insane that he wasn't let go after last year. I hope you get back into football at some point. Wentz is fun to watch. He reminds me of....dare I say it....Rodgers, in that he can make all of the throws. He's really good.
It's not insane. They are one of the most cash poor teams in the NFL and would have had to pay two coaches' contracts and scrap a program in place for 15 years while they have a ton of young talent developing.
I get what you're saying, and you are not wrong. I just wish we could have retained Zimmer. He was a hard nosed football coach.

And they had to trade for Glenn and Preston Brown is basically a run of the mill linebacker in a market that doesn't value linebackers. That just shows you how hard it is for them to bring in outside talent.

Yeah Ogbuehi fucking blows. Kinda surprising, he fit the athletic profile of tackles who typically do well in the league.

Lewis has put together some really outstanding coaching staffs. As a CEO type, that's half the job.

Better coaches have had far fewer opportunities in far worse situations. The fact that Bengals fans are still interested at all in the core of this team is a little mind blowing. I would hate to have my wagon hitched to a couple horses named Lewis and Dalton, while AJ Green is aging out of his prime.

I thought OG was worthy of a top 10 pick. Paul Alexander had the O line dropping back a few steps and "catching" lineman, instead of being physical. Not OG's fault. But he has looked just as bad this preseason so far.

Lewis has been running the whole show as a de-facto GM and CEO-type coach for years and turned an NFL wasteland with less financial resources than any other franchise into a competent one that consistently bids for the playoffs. What exactly are your expectations? "Super Bowl or bust" is not realistic for every team in the NFL. He has done a lot with very little.

Jeff Fisher coached 10 years more than he should have. Him and Marvin would make the "meh" hall of fame. Lewis was a great defensive coordinator though. He basically took the Bengals (almost as bad as the Bengals) and made then respectful. And gave us fans hope.

Marvin Lewis would have to coach until the year 3,000 to get to the 7 playoff wins that Jeff Fisher has as a head coach. The way the playoffs are structured with the top two teams getting first round byes, it is actually difficult to go 0-7 as Lewis has done. It is not like they are getting bad luck and running into a buzzsaw of a team. They are generally losing to wildcard teams or the worst division winner.

I won't argue that at all. 0-7 in the playoffs is probably a record. Has to be.....

He has been stifled by Mike Brown though. This is his first year besides 2003, in which he made all of the offseason decisions. That was why he agreed to come back. Before....Mike Brown made most of the draft picks in the first and second round. Marvin has found gold in later rounds.

Personally....I felt Marvin should have been let go after the 2009 season. I have no choice but to give him benefit of doubt this year. I would have loved to have a Tom Coughlin coaching with Marvin drafting players. And let's not forget the playoffs of 2015. Bullshit calls. We had that game won. Unbelievable.

This is true. I'm just hoping for the best. I always dream of having a bonafide great head coach. I hate the fact that great players like Andrew Whitworth won't see the hall of fame. Dude is probably top 20 tackle to ever play the game. I think it was 2013 that he didn't even allow a QB pressure.

Let's be real, many coaching changes are a service to the fans. It is like drawing new cards in poker when you have a shitty hand. Odds are good you still have a shitty hand, but every once in a while you pull a full house. Don't tell me Cincy fans would not get stoked about getting an innovative young coach or two a chance rather than 15 years of Marvin Lewis.
