my point was that not everyone has what it takes to be a boss. and even more people are not going to be able to be a boss, even if they had what it takes.

if everyone who worked on the dark knight decided to try to direct instead. there would be no dark knight. if everyone who helps metallica be metallica decided to become musicians instead, it would fall apart. cause you need people to support you. those people are not going to be bosses themselves. it won't work. it's good to strive for that, but the majority of people either are not able to make it work, or won't have the opportunity to make it work.
And if everyone quit so easily, nothing would ever get made. The Dark Knight was a great movie because many talented people took the time to learn their craft and then gave the effort to apply it to the task. They accomplished something great because of the effort they put in for years prior, not just when it was time to work at that moment.

How many unambitious people do you think work on movies like that?

How many years did the composer hone his craft? How many costumes did the designers work on before ever learning of the movie?

Do you think Hans Zimmer would be holding down the floor tiles at some convenience store, counting the minutes until his next smoke break, if he was not working on a Batman movie?

everyone should strive to be hans zimmer, if they wanna be. and they should also be aware that only one of them will reach that goal.

Give up ambitions? They would have to have them in the first place. Hire some people for a food service job if you want to see what the bottom of the barrel looks like. I am talking numerous people who could not tell you where their last five years went.

i don't know those people. some people are losers. some people become losers. and some people are judged to be losers because they fail to be a boss.

Well, they really should be aware that he is who he is because he put in the work to get there. He didn't just wish to be great, he did the necessary work to become a master. Most people will not give the effort.

Getting half way to Ray Kroc would leave you with a pretty nice life. Deciding to never be anything is likely to leave you in a rough spot.

Seems like your argument is that you are destined to never be happy so you might as well not try. I never said anything about Ray Kroc. I said people should find a purpose and they will discover as they become important in the lives of others, they stand a batter chance of finding happiness.

I have zero interest in beating you up. My interest lies in seeing a friend happy. I think if you can look in the mirror at the end of the day and say you have done all you can do, I have to accept it.

I think you might have the wrong idea about what I do. I got up this morning and did my spanish lesson. I responded to my emails and did a little paperwork, then I went shopping. Then I went to the restaurant to make a couple things (pimiento cheese and red chili sauce). I then went to the food truck and made some gravy, cut some onions, and then manned the deep fryer. I came home and returned some emails and such, then worked on some marketing while chatting with you guys and my GF.

What is the part of my day that you could not do?

man this Spring Break movie Sean S Cunningham directed is pretty bad.

Though I like the F13 style music cues toward the end.
