Q for Dream if she sees this.

Had a really crummy headache for about three days at the back, right portion of the skull. On the 4th day, which was Thursday night, severe neck pain on the right side became prominent. I suspected a clot in the jugular, so I went to the ER for a CT scan of the head, neck and chest. They didn't see a clot, I kept pressing them for info on it, they mentioned muscle spasms but didn't seem remotely concerned. Blood work showed my white cell count was a little high, so I'm on antibiotics until Tuesday. It's going on Monday morning and the pain hasn't reduced. I seem to have some symptoms of meningitis, but wouldn't that have shown up in both the blood work and CT scans? And shouldn't the antibiotics work well against it, anyway?

This is one of the worst pains I've ever felt in my life. I can't function without the painkillers they prescribed. Standing up is a huge pain in the ass. Don't know if this is just a slow burn I'll have to deal with for a few days longer or what, but it is immensely painful. I can kinda feel it in my ear a little, I can't even tilt my head straight unless I'm on pain killers. Head is kinda stuck in a downward position. Just miserable. It is unreal.

I don't think so? I think you need a spinal to diagnose meningitis.

A few fun questions for you (that you don't have to answer here but might give you some ideas on what to get checked for):

Have you had sex recently enough that an STD panel is warranted (within the last six months or at all since you were last screened)? <-- seriously, even with condom use, the risk of infection is there and untreated STDs is an easily overlooked thing that leads to weird symptoms later on down the line.

How old is your mattress and/or pillow? <-- if it's older than ten-fifteen years you might be fucking up your spine by not supporting it properly. Invest in a new bed setup and see if it improves, even just getting a new pillow can make a big difference.

Are you nauseous or having trouble with bright lights or do you have a fever? <-- most common symptoms of meningitis, go back to the doctor and ask them to test you for it, especially if any two are a yes.

Also, I'm not a doctor, dude. I google most of the questions you guys ask or have first-hand experience with it. Your body is all kindsa weird. You're one of the people that should legit just go to the doctor because the risk of your hand just falling off due to a clot seems pretty high at any given time regardless of what your symptoms are. (I know your hand falling off isn't really a huge risk, but I mean, your case seems pretty unique and anything I can find out isn't likely to help because I don't know much about your condition while a doctor should be much more informed with your medical history easily at hand. Most of the stuff I've suggested for your questions so far was fairly common sense stuff.)

STD check not needed.

Mattress is two months old.

The pain is so bad that I'll occasionally feel slightly nauseous. No real problem with bright lights or a fever.

I'm able to move my neck a lot more today. Headache is still very prominent though.

chances are you slept funky one night and messed up your neck muscles/vertebrae leading to a bad headache that will ease up as you work out the neck issue. If it gets worse instead of better, go back and stress the headache and pain level.
