If you actually want to blame someone, it should be our DC for calling man to man on a 2nd and 30 when Mahomes had extended plays by escaping the pocket all game. You can't cover in man for 5 seconds, and in that situation that's absurd.

No, I just understand what I was watching. You're going to give up big plays when you let a strong armed QB roll to his right with 5+ seconds from snap to throw. That's not on the coverage, that's a failure to contain the edge, questionable scheming and great QB play. Not bad secondary play. Many of those throws were still in tight windows too, so I have no idea what you were looking at . . .Jason wrote:I watched the game. You spent too much time listening to the commentators go "OmG.!!>!".Headhunter wrote:Yeah, it's clear you weren't paying very close attention. But let it out. That fourth quarter was all the QB making crazy plays.
Of course Mahomes made some good plays. But a huge portion of that was because the secondary didn't cover worth a fuck. Then Keenum has a fucking wide open 2-pointer and still misses the bucket.

Re: NFL 2018: From the Draft to the Super Bowl
Denver just isn't a good team. They still have no answer at QB, the coaching is severely lacking and the defense is losing playmakers every year. Just be happy there are finally some young players to be excited about because KC will run this division until they have to pay Mahomes.Reign in Blood wrote:I'm going to bed and pretending today never existed.

With Talib gone, Harris regressing, Phillips in Loss Angeles, and the pass rush and run support being non-existent today, you're gonna have an ugly game. You can cover man-to-man for five seconds, just not when receivers are as fast as Tyreek Hill. That is the only mulligan I'm giving the defense. Other than that, nobody else should have been as wide open as they were.Headhunter wrote:If you actually want to blame someone, it should be our DC for calling man to man on a 2nd and 30 when Mahomes had extended plays by escaping the pocket all game. Many is extremely generous. A few were in tight windows, many were ridiculously wide open.Headhunter wrote:No, I just understand what I was watching. Again, what are you watching? The pass rush was in Mahomes' face all day, there's a reason he was forced to roll out so often. The problem was entirely contain. You can't play man for 5+ seconds. And very few guys were wide open, he just made awesome throws.Jason wrote:With Talib gone, Harris regressing, Phillips in Loss Angeles, and the pass rush and run support being non-existent today, you're gonna have an ugly game. Mahomes would roll out on half the plays when there was no rush at all. They were holding Mahomes to a mediocre game all day until the 4th quarter arrived and the secondary was non-existent, and the pass rush was non-existent, and the run support was non-existent. They contained for most of the game, and blew their wad in the 4th. They looked like a completely different defense in the 4th quarter. Just ugly, terrible defense.Headhunter wrote:Again, what are you watching? The pass rush was in Mahomes' face all day, there's a reason he was forced to roll out so often. Well, leave it to the rest of us to separate context and results I guess.Jason wrote:Mahomes would roll out on half the plays when there was no rush at all. Have at it. Re: NFL 2018: From the Draft to the Super Bowl
Does Jason constantly like zone out and invent games in his head? The pressure from the pass rush was constantly there, Mahomes didn't go uncontested, to the point of detriment in the fact that fucking guy kept getting the fuck out of it and able to make plays. Which brings us to the secondary, because he was able to roll out and keep plays going so well, you can't ask the secondary to fucking cover people for that long, someone is gonna break free.
Add on Keenum being as worthless as a dry sponge, we have our narrow defeat.

Only Aaron Rodgers makes some of the plays Mahomes made last night. It was incredible. There's no QB I would take going forward over him and the fucking Chiefs got him.Reign in Blood wrote:Does Jason constantly like zone out and invent games in his head? Keenum was terrible and there's no excuse for only running the ball 22 times when they couldn't stop us at all. Our OC calls games like Keenum is a superstar.

I really have not spotted a flaw in the Mahomes game yet it's incredible to watch.

We had his number in the first half, but combined with his highlight reel the first three games and clutching it up here, there ain't nothing to bitch about.Tiggnutz wrote:I really have not spotted a flaw in the Mahomes game yet it's incredible to watch.
It was also kind of endearing watching ol' grumpy looking Santa Claus Andy sit and talk with him/go over shit when he was struggling or they knew they needed him to come up big.

My guy Rosen looked like a stud in his first start. Denver will regret passing on him. :x

Broncos game matches Head and Reigns interpretation. Not Jason’s. That is all.

Sometimes you just have to recognize a superstar doing superstar things. It's like defending LeBron as well as you can and giving up 40. You just have to tip your cap and move on. Unfortunately, this is our teams' nightmare for the next decade.

Re: NFL 2018: From the Draft to the Super Bowl
Mahomes made some frustratingly good plays. But there was a lot of horse shit defense being played, too. A couple of missed tackles, and Kareem Hunt busting up the middle for 7 yards on every down in the 4th quarter is bad defense.

Re: NFL 2018: From the Draft to the Super Bowl
The softer run defense was by design and worked for 3.5 quarters. Mahomes simply beat good defense in the passing game. It's not always about the Broncos, sometimes the other guys are just better.
