There's a lot of short King stories I would love to see adapted. Strawberry Spring, for one. Gray Matter might be cool. And Survivor Type is a must.

Makeup master Greg Nicotero (“The Walking Dead”) is the man behind next year’s return of “Creepshow,“ which will be taking the form of a television series on Shudder. At the New York Comic Con over the weekend, Nicotero spilled some exciting new details about the project.

As relayed by Horror News Network, some HUGE names will be part of “Creepshow,” including both Stephen King and son Joe Hill, as well as Bubba Ho-Tep writer Joe R. Lansdale!

The site reported out of NYCC, “Nicotero stressed that the tone of the series would shift from story-to-story, with some taking a lighthearted comedic approach and others taking a much more frightening path. He also stated that each story would be ‘As long as they need to be’ and that he did not feel any pressure to fit the stories into segments of equal length.”

“Nicotero also revealed that the current plan is to produce digital comics based on each episode, as a potential perk for Shudder subscribers. He also hopes that they are collected into actual comics, which he believes is still the proper way to read comics.”

A homage to the horror comics of the 1950s, the original Creepshow featured segments written by Stephen King and was directed by a fellow horror legend, George A. Romero.

For a more dramatic one, I'd recommend "The Reach" - didn't like it when I was younger, but now I find it oddly poignant. Based on that poster, though, not sure if the series wants to move that way.

I've had Everything's Eventual for years, and still haven't read every story. I do think "Riding the Bullet," "The Man in the Black Suit," and "1408" are all pretty good. From N&D, "It Grows on You," "The Moving Finger," "The House on Maple Street," and "The Ten O'Clock People" all have potential. I'd add in The Night Flier, but the movie from 1997 is good enough for me.

I LOVE the idea of variable length. One of the weaknesses of episodic tv storytelling has always been that you know when a story is going to conclude.

HATE that it is going to get Shudder budgets.
