If the Democrats were an actual leftist party that cared about progressive policies, they wouldn't let Pelosi anywhere near them. Then again, they'd have to disband, as most of them are in much the same vein.

Pharmaceutical shit is actually private in D.C.. Would like it to be disclosed what kind of Alzheimer's pill Pelosi is taking on my dime.

If Democrats proposed that, Republicans would fight it, because it would decrease their power. If Republicans proposed it, the Democrats would do the same. It's a common sense solution, much like ranked choice voting, but no one is going to go out of their way and seriously fight for it. Status quo for the win.

I don't think they've ever claimed to be leftist. Both parties are centrist, though you wouldn't know it from their loudest supporters.

The divergence is growing though, no doubt.

Yup. Mutually assured democratic destruction.

You answered your own question. It is hilarious how many are drawn, though.

Some numbers finally coming in for my district. They couldn't even run Democrats there for a long time and it's projected to be one of the closest races.

I voted today, and hope all of you did. Tired of politics.

Think the US once again has the government it deserves. But a check on the worst impulses is good to see.
