Re: December 13th 2018
Taking half day off tomorrow. Got 7.5 extra days off for overtime. Total days earned thus tops 27.5 days to go with my 28 days of annnual leave and 12 days National holidays. Not a bad life.
Re: December 13th 2018
I've been told I didn't qualify for overtime. Hooray!

Seeing shit like this annoys me. I get ten days off, four paid holidays, and bust my ass every damn day. I'll get twenty days max after ten years.showa58taro wrote:Taking half day off tomorrow. More holiday, maternity and paternity leave, paid sick leave and special leave all need to become a thing for you guys.

Re: December 13th 2018
The only places that get every holiday off are government and bank jobs. Most other places get 4-5 average. Maternity/paternity leave is purely up to the employer(including the length of time if they do have it). Average sick leave is 2-3 days a year. Average PTO is 1 week to start, 2 weeks after a year, 3 after 5 years, 4 after 10.showa58taro wrote:More holiday, maternity and paternity leave, paid sick leave and special leave all need to become a thing for you guys.
I was with my previous employer for ten years when they decided to sell the place. I transitioned from them to the new company doing the same job(literally the same building, same product, same everything). They treat me as a new employee, though, so all my accumulated leave is gone.
Re: December 13th 2018
I get 4 weeks PTO and 10 holidays and a 5th week of PTO when I hit 10 years.

Saw the new Halloween movie earlier. Wasn't blown away, and some parts bothered me, but overall a decent movie.

Not all of us work for the government, chum.showa58taro wrote:More holiday, maternity and paternity leave, paid sick leave and special leave all need to become a thing for you guys.

Everyone in the UK gets these things enshrined in law. Not just me and my civil service gig.Jason wrote:Not all of us work for the government, chum.showa58taro wrote:More holiday, maternity and paternity leave, paid sick leave and special leave all need to become a thing for you guys.

Some of us are actually expected to work more days than days off, esquire.showa58taro wrote:Taking half day off tomorrow. Got 7.5 extra days off for overtime. Total days earned thus tops 27.5 days to go with my 28 days of annnual leave and 12 days National holidays. Not a bad life.

Re: December 13th 2018
I get 4 weeks vacation/PTO (5 after 15 years), 8 Holidays, and I think accrue 10 sick days a year.

Sick Days WTF I ain't get no sick days :xReign in Blood wrote:I get 4 weeks vacation/PTO (5 after 15 years), 8 Holidays, and I think accrue 10 sick days a year.
Re: December 13th 2018
I get 3 sick days and divide it into 6 because we get 24 hours paid sick time so I take 6 random days off a year and get paid half days. It's my vacation.
Re: December 13th 2018
I will tell you something shitty. People who are salary not hourly where I work get unlimited time off they just have some bullshit percentage of time they are supposed to be at work it equals like 6 1/2 weeks they can miss. It's more of a guideline and not a rule and 90% of people abuse that shit. Makes me want to puke :x

I would recommend being angry at the system, not your fellow workers. Were you in their place, you'd possibly do the same. The system is the problem, not the people.
