I've seen about half of the MCU movies, and this one falls about in the middle for me. The Iron Man sequels, Guardians 2, Age of Ultron well below it. Haven't seen the Thors, Ant-Mans, or Dr. Strange.

I liked it and it's got a cool 90s nostalgia thing going on. I didn't think it was great, but it was a good time. Not surprising that the Reddit/4chan ilk of the internet are trying to tank it like they did with The Last Jedi. Kinda sad but at least those people are finding something to do I guess. Better than killing people.zombie wrote:that seems to be the consensus, generally, but i haven't seen it for myself yet.Headhunter wrote:Captain Marvel.zombie wrote:for it? is it still showing? or is this about captain marvel? i didn't take you to be an mcu fan.Headhunter wrote:Theater was about 2/3 full for a 9:10 PM showing on a Sunday in Phuket.

i'm expecting it to be in the top 5-10 of the mcu, for my own tastes. somewhere above doctor strange and the gotg movies, but below iron man and thor: ragnarok. so basically mid-range. not a bad watch, like thor: the dark world and iron man 2 were.

1. Iron Man
2. Avengers: Infinity Wars
3. Guardians of the Galaxy
4. Black Panther
5. The Avengers
6. Civil War
7. Captain America
8. Winter Soldier
9. Captain Marvel
10. The Incredible Hulk
11. Iron Man 2
12. Guardians 2
13. Age of Ultron
14. Iron Man 3
Demarcation point seems to be between Captain Marvel and Hulk, which I thought was just decent. The ones below that I did not care for.

Of course it's just claims, you think Disney's going to admit it? Even if it's just a small averages that you're figuring, it's still awfully fishy in the first place.zombie wrote:those are still claims. "anonymous theater owner", "a theater owner friend" and all that, but we can entertain it. so he said 20-30 empty seats per showing (of a 200-300 seat average). so that looks like 10% of the seats, give or take.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Found one on the story that didn't get deleted. I am in the know with this shit. It's crazy. Didn't think box offices would be manipulated, though. This all stems from Brie Larson bringing identity politics into movie proportion.

$153 mil opening weekend. 10% of which is $15mil (if i did it right. ) so if you want to say that that percentage was nationwide, the opening weekend would be $138 mil. so $772mil instead of $910 mil, worldwide as of now (estimated) in the third weekend. is that not a major success even if you entertain the conspiracy theory to it's most extreme?
The same weekend, it got leaked that some professional critics admitted Disney's been paying them for favorable reviews too.

No, Zombs is trying to twist it that way, when it's implied the other way around to combat the reddit/4chan type trolls trying to tank it.Headhunter wrote:Wait, seriously? Surprised you are not a big Guardians fan tbh. It seems like one you would have loved.
Also, the new Spider-Man movie totally slipped my mind. Haven't seen it. Into the Spider-Verse was really cool though.
