Interesting that while Friday the 13th is my favorite franchise, none of the movies managed to be my favorite horror movie in its given year. Plenty of close calls (NOES beat out Final Chapter, and 1985 was competitive as all fuck)

Possible. All mentioned so far are aces, and there's still Day of the Dead and Return Of The Living Dead still sitting on the table just off the top of my head. And the original Fright Night.

Ok, this was pretty hard and I did it at a fast pace. The hardest years to pick a fave was 81, 84, 85, 87, and 90. I flipped a coin for 84 between Friday the 13th part 4 and A Nightmare on Elm Street. '75 seemed to be a pretty bad year, so I picked Jaws. I do really like Jaws, it's just not my thing.

Came up frequently as 2010 for me. I do see that it was festival releases though. I have no problem trumping the likable Fright Night remake for Insidious as 2011.
