Just now read this. I was in the same boat.

1989 was so mediocre, Jason Takes Manhattan was actually one of the runner ups for me, lol.

I was working on this a couple days ago but the 90s were frustrating the ever loving fuck out of me so it's still chilling in my drafts.

1993 is really bad too, but 1989's awfulness is inexplicable after the rest of the decade. Can we just roll that year into the 1990s when we talk about horror? It's unreal.

How are you guys researching to get your lists? If we had the Palme d'Horror from OGHMF this would be easy but I don't want to use IMDbs now clusterfuck piece of shit search. Especially for 2000's ugh.

I've been organizing by flickchart. Though, there is still the problem with the year of a festival/limited release getting priority over actual wide release. 47 Meters Down is a 2017 wide release, but because they toyed with a small dvd release in 2016, they list it as a 2016 movie.

I used Flickchart for a rough guide. Then I saw other people's list and made one or two changes that didn't show up.

Wikipedia has lists for each year. Some of them are pretty short lists though. Not sure how thorough it is.

Link to the wikipedia page. There's also this, which has some that aren't on wikipedia(but only up to 1981, so useful to old farts like me anyway). Between the two, you should have a good starting point at least.
