I know you guys ignore the ever-loving hell out of me in this thread (lol), but have I played for you one of my all-time favorite childhood gems? It's withstood the test of time and grows more meaningful as I get older. One of the most beautifully written and sounding songs ever. A true comfort song.

I've listened to the new album due to the leak this past weekend and let's just say it's not all that great. Probably one of the slowest Tool albums. I did like Descending a lot, but the rest of the album felt like the same song was on repeat and that's not good when each song (6 in total) on the album is 10 plus minutes. Makes it kind of hard to differentiate what song is playing. I'm actually gonna give it another listen and see if anything else stands out.

6 songs in 13 years, I get that they're long but that was always going to underwhelm.

Just looked at Amazon (I plan on buying the hard copy when it's available) and the digitial track list says 10 tracks, and 4 are under 10 minutes.

Oh, I guess outside the Deluxe box CD, there's no intended CD release, just digital. And looks like that CD was just 7 tracks while the digital version has 10. Ho hum.

10 songs in total through streaming. 7 on the album. 4 are interludes.

I think my issue with Tool is they feel like a jam band or summat. They got great shit in those jam sessions, but... my first listen through the new album and there's not a discernible song for me except for Descending, and that might not start until the 9:30 mark.

Went ahead and bought it digitally and listened to it several times today. I dig it, but it definitely has a set groove that doesn't deviate much. However, 7emptest is definitely my favorite jam of the bunch. Descending and Chocolate Chip Trip are the runner ups so far.

Fleetwood Mac is the current band at the top of my hot list. For my money, they're the best live band ever.

I'd argue GWAR, but only before Oderus died. My first time seeing them, I got covered in piss, blood, and cum. Was glorious.

Covered in cum.

Covered?

Not just hit with or splashed, but actually covered?

I'm still stuck on the "glorious" part.

I think it sounds memorable for sure. And if he means fake blood/cum/piss then that sounds epic. But if real, bit gross.

More so covered in piss and blood, but I got cum in my eye before the band even started playing. I was blind for the first song, and thrown around the pit. I ended up about fifty feet away from where I was standing initially because I couldn't tell what the fuck was going on. After the show, we went to Denny's for some food and I was dripping blood everywhere. If that's not a good show, I don't know what is.

But was it real or fake? That’s what I wasn’t clear on. Though both sound epic in their own way.
