According to Rob Zombie, it was Sid's choice.

Basically, yeah. Robert Brake came in to fill the void (admirable as he was, Sid's shoes were too huge to fill...he should've just been Doomhead ), and then they found out at the last minute Sid's health was sparked back up a little bit so if they wanted to they can shoot something with him.

Going to have to watch a movie with Sid in it for the Challenge maybe Night of the Living Dead 3D

I was thinking of that one too, even before he died. Haven't seen it, heard it was terrible, but still curious.

I don’t think it was as monumental a day for most of the world. I would’ve been a senior in HS. Think I was in the Dorm when it happened. Think Mr. Farrell came to watch it all on the TV upstairs. Most teachers were definitely upset. We came back to school the next day though.

I've seen it it's pretty bad but the lead actress is a hottie.
