If we all started voting third party when both the Democratic and Republican Parties spat in our faces, we wouldn't need to be worried about how far gone one or both parties are.

Also Greta is clearly not a crisis actor. She’s been at it for a year and a bit. Feel free to drop the sham indignation now Jason and just admit you don’t care about it despite the science.

Ignore Jason. For a start she’s been active for a year without the US interested. She’s an activist who started the school strike for climate change action movement. She demands governments listen to the scientific community and start making meaningful changes and taking action to avoid a global catastrophe and mass extinction. Very impressive Swede. Especially given she’s just a kid.
She recognizes we are running this god-forsaken planet into the ground, I can dig it. Skipping school is not the answer, but hey. Who ruined her childhood though?

I wonder what Greta thinks of the overall measurable rise in crop growth due to the increase of CO2 in the atmosphere. Or that warming periods throughout human history have led to human flourishing, not catastrophe. She knows nothing about the script she's been handed by the democrats. She is a pawn, and biased haters who are team left will rally around her because team leftism. There is no saving people who have no open mind. It's science.

Her point more than anything is that she isn’t really wanting to skip school and do these protests and raise consciousness around the environment. She sees it as a moral imperative due to the inaction of many governments from setting and meeting their required reduction in emissions.

So your counter to global catastrophe on an unimaginable scale is that certain regions may grow more crops, something we have loads of? Good call.

You guys should remember today though. 24 September 2019, when democracy kicked back into gear.

The last thing Republicans need is rogue Trump going third party and guaranteeing a Democrat win. They have no choice but to ride this out so this doesn't do a whole lot for me.

If they show that he corruptly used the presidency to pressure a foreign government to try and influence an election then you can’t stand by that. You can’t ever re over from being the party that backed a guy who actively corrupted the office and used his foreign policy initiative for personal gains. They’ll never recover. It’ll have to play out, but this is a very big deal. Trump called Pelosi to try and work out a deal on the Ukraine thing to avoid any further damage and she went on TV and said it was impeachment time.

Trump looks like he knows he fucked up. His speech couldn’t have sounded more labored and poor, and his recent interviews (shouting over a plane engine) show him increasingly agitated and sweaty. I think he knows this is trouble. I really do.

Worth reminding everyone that Nixon released the “full unredacted tapes” and that turned out to be false. Should be interesting.

We all know history is going to shit on Trump, MAGA, the people who stood by him and everything around this mess. The Republicans don't care though. And they can't be in the business of trading short term gains for long term credibility anymore. They've been past that for a long time.

Then they’re in for a rough ride. No way this plays out well.

Greta's gonna marry David Hogg and either give birth to a Damien Omen baby or have enough kids to reenact Children of the Corn.

Don't get me wrong, it would be great to see some of these folks stick their daggers into Orange Julius. You can't ever trust Republicans to do the right thing though.

This is not breaking news, but holy fuck Trump is one of the biggest goddamn idiots to ever breathe.

They do have something in common: being targets of harassment from the most pathetic people in existence.

This wishful thinking is almost sad tbh. If everything goes as planned and he is impeached he's not going to be convicted by the Senate so would it be like some sort of moral victory? This dream of him packing his shit and going home or to prison is ridiculous and a little silly. You want him gone than win in 2020 and not the imaginary win of more popular votes but the kind that actually counts and decides who's the next president.

To be fair, the electoral college is absolutely moronic and there is zero justification for it still being used. But I say that every cycle.

We never even pay attention to it, but the entire process of getting together "the electors" is such a hilariously antiquated thing I don't know why they don't bring them all in on horse and buggies.
