Easily top 5 Scorsese for me. Probably 3rd behind Taxi Driver and Goodfellas.

Raging Bull's great but doesn't have the casual rewatchable pace of many of his others.

I think it will be very similar to Casino. And Goodfellas too but since this thing is 3+ hours, more epic in scope like Casino.

Agreed. Honestly, the Departed should be right there with them, but we grew up with the other 2.

Also, Scorsese has to have the most great movies of any director, right? Not necessarily the most 9/10s but a lot of 8/10s. I guess Spielberg also has the longevity to challenge that, but Scorsese has at least 10.

Agreed. Honestly, the Departed should be right there with them, but we grew up with the other 2.

One thing about Goodfellas and Casino is the narration makes it so you can be preoccupied while the movie is on and follow it. I love good background movies for those kinds of practical reasons. Jackie Brown has risen on my all time QT list because it's an unbelievably good background movie.

Its weird how forgettable a lot of Spielberg's recent shit is, even though it's generally pretty good. How do you lose that "event director" status that way?
