Trying to keep track of all the major sports games I've been to. Stacking up against me. I spent like an hour trying to remember if I went to Denver at San Diego in 2014. I watched the highlights and remember being at that the game and watching Connor Barth nail 5 field goals because McManus was sucking bad and dropped him to the practice squad. Decided I'd post all the NFL games I've been to.

John Elway vs. Chris Chandler. Almost got to see an Elway 4th quarter comeback. We were down 24-3 near the end of the 3rd quarter. Hilliard got a pick, Atwater recovered a Jerome Bettis fumble. Some notable names from the game are John Elway, Shannon Sharpe, Jason Elam, Jerome Bettis, Simon Fletcher, Dennis Smith, Steve Atwater, Ray Crockett, Karl Mecklenburg. Howard Griffith scored his first NFL touchdown with the Rams, but he went on to be a Super Bowl winning full back with Denver. I remember tiny pieces of the game. Loss brought us to 3-6.

Kyle Orton vs. Philip Rivers. Monday Night Football. Eddie Royal scored a punt and kick return TD. Champ broke coverage and made a TD saving shoe lace tackle in the open field on a guy somebody else was guarding. Brandon Marshall threw a fit and kicked the ball, causing a delay of game. Win brought us to 6-0.

Kyle Orton vs. Vince Young. Mariani of Tennessee scored a kickoff return TD. On their kickoff, DeMaryius Thomas returned a kick to around the Titans 11 yard line, I think. Pretty sure we only got a field goal out of that one, though. Down 20-16 with 1:38 to play, Orton throws a T.D. to Correll Buckhalter to make it 23-20. Prater pooches it and Mariani fumbles. Denver recovers and we run out most of the clock and kick an insurance field goal. Vince Young was seen after the game leaving in a very expensive car. Probably a quarter million. A Tennessee fan points to the car and tells him it's Vince Young. Vince Young then rolls up his window. lol. This was Denver's 4-12 season, their only road victory and I drove my ass 2,000 miles across country to go see it. The win brought us to 2-2.

Tim Tebow vs. Philip Rivers. Tebowmania was running wild and I caught a game right in the middle of it. Low scoring affair, but Tebow and company came through when we needed it. Down 10-0, Tebow throws a beauty TD to Decker 1:00 before halftime. Down 13-10 late in the 4th, Tebow drives us inside the 10 yard line, but we fail to get the TD and have to settle for a game tying field goal with 1:38 left to play. The game goes into overtime. 3:31 left to play and the Chargers are in field goal range at the Denver 31. 3rd and 6, Von Miller penetrates the line and stops Mike Tolbert for a 4- yard loss. Forcing Novak to attempt a 53 yard field goal for the win. The kick is blocked by Marcus Thomas, but John Fox called a timeout before the kick. I remember feeling totally dejected when that happened. I thought for certain Novak would make it, but luckily he didn't. Denver ball with 2:31 to play in overtime at their own 43. The big play was from the Chargers 41 yard line when McGahee broke a 24-yard run to put us in the red zone. Prater kicked a game-winning 37 yard field goal with 0:33 left in overtime. Win brought us to 6-5.

Peyton Manning vs. Philip Rivers. First time seeing Peyton Manning. Traffic was ridiculous, despite leaving extra early for the game. Parking was full, missed most of the first quarter. Heard fans cheering loudly from outside the stadium, which I found out was Julius Thomas scoring a 74 yard TD pass. Dominated the game, going up 28-6 in the 3rd and kinda coasted the rest of the way. Gotta a little nerve-wrecking toward the end, but finished with a relatively easy W. This was Pat Bowlen's 300th win as an NFL owner. The win brought us to 8-1.

Peyton Manning vs. Ryan Fitzpatrick. My first ever Denver Broncos home game and it was the coldest god damn game I've ever been to in my fucking life. I think it was like 13 degrees at kickoff. John Fox returned from heart surgery in this game and finally showed he had some balls. Denver went for it on 4th down twice and went 2-for-2. On our first possession, it was 4th and goal at the 1 and Manning threw a TD to Welker. Despite blowing out Tennessee, we were actually down 21-10 in this game and it was looking kinda scary for a minute here. Ryan Fitzmagic was in full form and he was tough to stop. As time expired in the 1st half, Matt Prater hit an NFL record 64 yard field goal to bring us within one point, 21-20. I still remember seeing we were at the Tennessee 46 when he lined up for the field goal and realized immediately Prater was attempting a record kick. He had altitude, but despite that, footballs DO NOT TRAVEL WELL in cold weather. We had lower level, 40-yard line seats so we had a perfect view of the kick (Skip to 1:20:21 in the youtube video to see the kick). I remember seeing it go right over Leon Washington's head and I was in stunned disbelief when the referees signaled it was good. I was telling some fellow Bronco fans next to me as the crowd was deafening that Prater just broke the NFL record. I don't know if they realized it or not at the time, because we don't have a broadcast, all we have is crowd noise. But that seemed to be what turned it around for the Broncos. We scored 31 second half points and Fitzy could not keep up. It was so cold. Win brought us to 11-2.

Peyton Manning vs. Philip Rivers. This is the game I remember the least about. Connor Barth kicked 5 field goals in I believe his first game with the Broncos. Lots of defense here and a pretty uneventful game overall. I am quite sure our seats were at the nosebleed, in the very back row up against the wall. Still not a bad view. I miss Qualcomm. Win brought us to 11-3.

Brock Osweiler vs. Philip Rivers. Brock filled in for Peyton as he recovered from plantar fascitits. This game was all defense, and one of the most impressive defensive games I've ever seen in my life and I got to see it in person. Trevathan got a pick-6, Von forced a fumble and recovered it, Darien Stewart recovered a fumble, Denver forced two turnovers on downs, one to end the game. Denver allowed 93 rushing yards and 179 passing yards for a game total yardage of 272 yards, 0 TDs, 4 fumbles with 2 recoveries, a pick-6, 4 sacks and 2 4th down stoppages. The win brought us to 10-2 and we went on to win the Super Bowl this season, two months later.

Joe Flacco vs. Marcus Mariota. As poorly as Denver had played all year, I absolutely did not expect a shut out. In fairness, this was kind of a battle of two shitty offenses but our defense really did play quite well, though, I am still more impressed with the 17-3 outing from the game I described above. With that said, this game was still interesting in a lot of ways. We got a rare NFL shutout which is always awesome, but I also may have witnessed the last game of Marcus Mariota as a Tennessee Titan. The dude is in his 5th year and is just not cutting it. He is not playing like a #2 overall pick should be playing. He was benched for Ryan Tannehill, who looked way better than Mariota. Tannehill made me nervous for the duration of the game, but we closed out the shutout and got a nice W. The win brought us to 2-4. I bought an Emmanuel Sanders jersey immediately after the game ended only for him to be traded a week later.
I am 8-1 in games attended as a Broncos fan. 2-0 at home, 6-1 on the road. Broncos home games are indescribably loud. The stadium shakes. It is awesome.
