Huh, I've never heard her described as a "from the nose" singer, more of a cold/sore throat singer is what I typically hear (or goat-like, hence the South Park joke). But I love Stevie's voice so I don't give a shit what type of singer she is

Front men that died at 27 and drug friendly music, that's it.
J-Mac, shoot me some thoughts on this. (Also, please, everyone that reads this, shoot me your thoughts)
For many years I've been a huge fan of Stop Draggin' My Heart Around with Nicks and Petty, but out of the blue this song has become a MASSIVE favorite of mine. Like a top 50 or 100 all time favorite. I know this is one of your favorites. What do you get from it?

Yeah, it's one of my faves for sure. I think what I love about it is there no song that even comes close to sounding like it. It's got a totally original "feel" to it. Also, you can hear how bad Stevie wanted Pettys cock in her voice. Their voices together is just such a perfect match.

I think he's saying Stevie is singing so convincingly in the duet, that it sounds like she is lusting for the peepee of the guy dragging her heart around.
She is really sexy in the video too, by the way...
2:54... she's looking at Tom Petty the way she would look at Lindsey during their concerts in Fleetwood Mac.

She sure did! I watched a Petty documentary, and she gushes over him. In 81 or 82, she tried to convince him for her to join the band and be a Heartbreaker. Like Jason said, watch the video and the way she looks at him. Petty didn't want to give her the song, and was annoyed at her insistence. Petty finally told her that she doesn't need him to write songs for her because he felt she was just as strong of a songwriter as anyone. That gave her the confidence to write those classic Stevie hits of the early to mid 80s.
