I don't know. What I do know is you're either advocating for heavy police involvement to the point of making football an unwatchable sport, or it's hit you that this take took you to places you didn't anticipate and we can probably get over whatever double standard you see this as.Tiggnutz wrote:That's a good point both are assault why is it OK for some but not for othersHeadhunter wrote:Couldn't the Browns have called the police on Mason Rudolph for kicking Myles Garrett in the nuts? You're certainly entitled to call the police if someone kicks you in the nuts with destructive intent.

In hockey a very aggressive dangerous sport a guy whacked a dude in the back of the head with his stick a few years back and he was rightfully brought up on charges because it far exceeded what was acceptable why is this different

That happened in bleeding heart Canada. That goes nowhere in the US.Tiggnutz wrote:In hockey a very aggressive dangerous sport a guy whacked a dude in the back of the head with his stick a few years back and he was rightfully brought up on charges because it far exceeded what was acceptable why is this different
It's also just a total chump move to bring out the lawyers there.

My only point is this paradigm of sports violence compared to other violence is wrong. And if I used paradigm correctly in that sentence I want to know lol

Okay, fine. Let's say it's wrong. So what? You're still going to go OHHHHHHHH every time someone gets a wicked knockout shot.Tiggnutz wrote:My only point is this paradigm of sports violence compared to other violence is wrong. And if I used paradigm correctly in that sentence I want to know lol

An uncomfortable truth in the world is that hypocrisy and double standards should absolutely exist. I don't want my football fields crawling with cops, so it's going to be different for people behind desks. I'm 100% comfortable with this.

I for the most part agree but that was something completely different that happened last night it crossed lines that should not have been crossed and I would of banned him for life to make an exampleHeadhunter wrote:An uncomfortable truth in the world is that hypocrisy and double standards should absolutely exist. We're acting like this is the first time something like this has happened. Rare you get a helmet swing that connects like that, but dudes swing helmets. It does happen.Tiggnutz wrote:I for the most part agree but that was something completely different that happened last night it crossed lines that should not have been crossed and I would of banned him for life to make an exampleHeadhunter wrote:An uncomfortable truth in the world is that hypocrisy and double standards should absolutely exist. What the NFL did is exactly what I would have. He will have to make things right this offseason before he can come back. And honestly, as bad as this was, there was nothing about Myles Garrett I didn't like before this incident. Everything I've seen for 4-5 years told me the guy was a genuinely awesome person with a lot of intellectual interests outside of football, who is respectful and is never going to be a problem for people to get along with. Probably someone we would all dig the shit out of and chop it up on here with. When he crosses those white lines, he turns into the monster many players turn themselves into. And in a blackout moment, he did something totally indefensible. Less than ten minutes later, you could see him deep in thought on the sideline and taking it all in. He absolutely deserves a chance to make things right and I'm pretty confident he will.

And for his own dignity, Rudolph better not seriously be pursuing legal action. Or the rest of his career is going to be an incredibly miserable experience.

The general populous will forget but I dont think other players will he can't take back what he did and the Steelers definitely wont you can't do what he did and say it was a bad day he earned his dirty player card last nightHeadhunter wrote:We're acting like this is the first time something like this has happened. Nobody can take back things they do. That's life. He doesn't need to take it back. He needs to swallow the punishment, do the right things and move forward. Lifetime ban is swinging a hammer just to do it, and that's not good leadership, that's weak projection of strength that burns bridges.Tiggnutz wrote:The general populous will forget but I dont think other players will he can't take back what he did and the Steelers definitely wont you can't do what he did and say it was a bad day he earned his dirty player card last nightHeadhunter wrote:We're acting like this is the first time something like this has happened. I can promise you if Mason Rudolph attempts to pursue legal action, he'll be a target for more players around the league than Myles Garrett.

Probably. But Mason Rudolph is the one who will be out there in 17 days against the Browns defense that saw their best player get banned for the year while the guy who repeatedly tried to hit him in the nuts and escalated the fight, wasn't punished at all and has threatened legal action.Tiggnutz wrote:You are probably right there wont be legal action but if I was a betting man the next time Myles plays the Steelers there will be retributionHeadhunter wrote:Nobody can take back things they do. Broncos are watching the Kaepernick workout. I would love nothing more than him joining Denver and starting.

Kaep scorned Elway when he wouldn't slash his salary by 70% to join the Broncos. They are doing it to save face, like every other team.showa58taro wrote:Broncos are watching the Kaepernick workout. I would love nothing more than him joining Denver and starting.
