Not a full gun ban
Uh-huh... You hear the dumbasses cheer? If it's popular enough, the politicians will push harder and harder and harder for it. And there are a lot of retarded liberals who will vote for a ban on guns thinking it will make the world full of sunshine rainbows and farts.

Is this a rhetorical question? I have no idea what people will do. Probably the easiest thing available to them, that's usually how it goes. In the meantime though, we can help curb gun violence through actual policy, so I'd like to try that.
if gun restriction will curb violence, let's do it. but be aware that it won't end there. that's all.

"Uh-huh" is all you needed to say. He's not talking about a full gun ban, he's specifically referring to AR-15s and AK-47s.

The purpose of government is to help reduce problems, if not outright eliminate them. 10-20% statistical drops are good things, even if they don't make the world perfect. Don't let perfect be the enemy of good.

"Not a full gun ban" was all you needed to say.

I remember just a couple of years ago it was "nobody is trying to take any guns away, just expand gun free zones".
Now it's turned into... "Not a full gun ban, we just want certain kinds"

Fuck off, faggots. Those paranoid hillbillies are the heroes we need to keep our guns, because we all know they will hunker down and blast away any government entities that try to take their shit. 1776, never forget.

These are psychopathic ramblings and in no way reflective of reality. Government entities could kill those dumb rednecks with the push of a button thousands of miles away, their guns might as well be toys.

Good thing they represent the majority of people in America. Gonna have to figure out a way to KillEmAllAlbumCover.jpg at the same time because you wipe out that one dumb redneck with the push of a button they're gonna march their asses into headquarters and fight to the death. It will be the end of this country.

Empty and vague cynicism. What specifically happens when there are more gun restrictions that you're referring to?

No, thankfully "the majority of people in America" are not gun-toting redneck idiots. It's actually a pretty small percentage.

As I said, psychopathic ramblings.

restrict the guns. ban the guns. that will help to curb violence, to a point. we can agree to that. you don't want to see it further, because you think that looking that way must mean that you don't want anything done at all.

*sigh* Still eating up the NRA's toxic waste with the gun ban stuff...

The reason it seems that you don't want anything done at all is that you've made zero proposals of your own, just talked about what wouldn't work perfectly and said parents need to be better. That's all you're giving me right now. I want to hear your ideas so I can respond to them.

the process for gun ownership should be thorough. and kept up with, so that you are aware of criminal records, behavioral red flags. etc. and the number of guns per household should be kept track of. if someone is deemed to be a risk, then they lose their right to bear arms.

ps. i've said this all before. :P

Haha, we're getting stuck in the mud a bit here. The premise of your argument has been that this alone is not good enough and it doesn't address the core issue, so I can't see how it's also your solution. My question is how you think we can fix this mass shooting epidemic beyond addressing the guns. For some people, it's 100% guns and for others it's 0% guns with percentages ranging all over the place in between so it makes sense to find some common ground somewhere.

Another thing I think is worth pointing out, Jason and a lot of conservatives like to present our armed citizens as some united coalition and an arm of conservative politics. In reality, about 1/3 of them are liberal. And the majority of gun owners don't support the NRA. This is not an issue of the people's will, it's an issue of money corrupting politics and creating policy the majority of Americans don't want.

Almost 2/3 of this country want stricter gun regulations. That's what the people want. Not some bullshit fantasy about a hillbilly uprising and marching to DC with their muskets. That's fiction.

i think it will help to curb violence. my concern is that when more violence inevitably happens, metal music, or horror movies, or violent video games, or comic books will be next on the chopping block. as it has been looked to as the problem, in the past. and you know this.

i do think that the real issue is mental health. that it is lack of responsibility in raising well-adjusted children. but we always get hung up on the possession and the entertainment as being the core problem.

Reagan's administration destroyed mental health resources on a federal level in the 80s and it's been terrible ever since.

Carter's presidency being a disaster fucked America over so badly. Philosophically, the direction of the country took as dramatic a turn as it could. The wealthiest Americans have benefitted, for everyone else it's gotten worse.

There is a bit of that militia, cowboy presence in Santa Clarita. Even conservatives think these people are fucking nuts. I dare anyone to attend one of their meetings and not be freaked out by how legitimately scary these people are.

well, it's kind of a cult like environment in a way. if you have a bunch of like minded people who share an empassioned interest and set of beliefs, they're going to feed into each other and they're kind of isolated from people with different viewpoints too, at least during the meetings.
