I don’t know much about unionization in the US admittedly. But surely they aren’t outlawed??
Not outlawed, but it's barely a 50/50 thing here. I know someone that's in a union, as he's a maintenance man that's highly trained (not some guy off the street) and certified. He's the only person I know that has a unionized job. So it's probably less than 50/50. I know conservatives hate it because it means paying people guaranteed livable wages, so they're willing to fire people for even mentioning the word "union".

And that’s legal? To fire workers for wanting collective bargaining rights?

Unions were once the backbone of Democratic Party politics. They've been resoundly crushed in the past 40 or so years.

They do not factor into our national politics at all anymore.
Not removing until John Elway is fired.

That seems so backwards. You basically hand corporations personage status through sone of your SCOTUS judgements but then reduce workers to cogs. Pretty bad in my view.

Legality of firing varies state to state, but most states it is legal to fire someone for without cause. I remember when I worked at walmart right out of high school, they straight up told us that any union talk was grounds for termination, and we were encouraged to rat on any other employees that mentioned it.

Reagan firing all those striking air traffic control workers was the knockout blow. Unions were already stumbling (and certainly their ties to organized crime damaged their reputation), but it's been open season for corporations since.

I can see the benefits of being in a good union but the worst job I ever had was a union job and I would never want another.
