Just passed my exam. I am now officially a certified personal trainer. Only took about a week to read the book, but man, fuck the scientific terminology used. No one talks like that in real life, so what's the point? Now I need to decide if I want to start on my nutritionist certification, or wait a bit.

Thanks! But intense is not how I'd describe it. I read a book, then took an exam. I mean, the book was big, but it was hardly intensive.

But you must’ve learned the stuff you read at least. So that counts for something.

The problem with the fitness industry is that there's a whole lot of opinions and not enough facts, so what I "learned" was their opinions on certain things. The facts I already knew. Certification does not equate to knowledge, it's just necessary to get a job at a gym, or to show credentials to potential clients(who are just happy to see a piece of paper saying you're certified). I liken it to all the ads I see requiring a BA/BS to stock shelves. People like that paper, even when it's pointless.
