I’m sure a lot of people would have, Republican administrations typically like to cut the fat where they see it. But when you’re the leader free world, you need to be prepared for every worst case scenario and that was short-sighted as all hell. It’s not even like pandemics are incomprehensible to us. We got movies, board games, books, video games and actual instances of the shit happening in recent history.

There was a massive shortage of testing kits until March and April, and you can't just shut down the world's greatest economy on credit. Once testing kits became available and people were being tested at a rapid rate, Trump shut down the economy.

There is no winning, here. China fucked us. Any other president after Reagan would've listened to the WHO and we'd be at 20 million cases and rising. As it is now, the infection rate is beginning to trend downward, by the way. Bashing someone out of hindsight proves nothing. Trump took action in January, and it clearly paid off.
