Bashing someone for actions taken when we knew 0.1% of what we know now is bashing someone out of hindsight.

the things that they are accusing him of, such as reacting and making decisions slower than he should have is only something you could determine over time. so it looks like just hindsight.
What we do know is that he was lied to by the WHO and China, yet, still took preventative measures despite their advisory not to.
we know that, yeah. and we know what those preventative measures taken look like. can we acknowledge china's fault, and also criticize trump's reaction to it?

i don't see this as reaching, when it's on record and you can just point to that. but sure... maybe it's reaching. do you never reach, when arguing a point around here?

I reach when arguing a point, yes. I don't reach in a decision to justify poor reasoning, though, is the difference.
