Re: April 25th, 2020
According to their website, Shudder is trying to get more devices available. No timeframe though, so I may have to go for the stick, or Cube.
Do you get any other live tv options with it?

I run SlingTv with it. It's pretty much cable. $30 a month for all the channels I want. No contract. And they always have a free week of channels. Like....all the time. Most others are $20+ more. I get 10 hours free of Tivo or whatever the kids are calling it these days. Also, most shows are on demand just like with cable or satellite. PlutoTV is also available with Roku or Firestick. It's kinda cool, but you can find their content pretty easy without having it.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:According to their website, Shudder is trying to get more devices available. I started off with a Roku, which has more apps, but a lot of it is just the same stuff. I got a Firestick because you can jailbreak it. I havent utilized that in over a year. The firestick is an easier and more attractive format to me.

But yeah, if you have Direct TV, Spectrum, etc, you can run it with the Roku or Firestick. Ya just download the app and sign in with your info.

Holy shit, looks like I can get channels like ABC and watch the live streams through it (after obtaining the apps). That was unclear before. I definitely found my alternative to cable (which my package deal was coming to an end soon anyway).

And by "live" I mean "as it airs", live tv. JMac's reply is an example of it not being clear if it runs live channel through it, just access to content

Look up Sling when ya get a chance. I used to have buffering problems with AT&T, but not with Spectrum at all. I know you've had some issues with Spectrum. It's just been really good for me.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Holy shit, looks like I can get channels like ABC and watch the live streams through it (after obtaining the apps). Re: April 25th, 2020
I have ATT, not Spectrum. And yes, they have major problems. Yet everything I look up, they're rated better than Spectrum, so I didn't drop their internet service yet. I wish there were better though, but I'm in the ghetto and they won't update to fiber out here.Jmac Attack wrote:Look up Sling when ya get a chance. I've had literally no issue with them. I pay $19.99 a month for high speed. Was paying over 60 with at&t. Not one day did it not buffer for me. Who do you go through?Jason wrote:Spectrum sucks.

I got no issue with spectrum but the price. 200 dollar package and there's nothing but garbage on. Especially now when I get no wrestling or sports.

I never thought I'd be that old fart that doesn't understand technology, but I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I haven't even owned a tv in years.

Man, I still cant even do a Sig properly. The firestick is insanely easy to figure out. It does all the work. But I feel ya.Slaughterhouserock wrote:I never thought I'd be that old fart that doesn't understand technology, but I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I haven't even owned a tv in years.

Really good TV's are easy to find for cheap these days. I remember buying a 32 inch tube tv in 2003. The price was like $1100. And it was heavy as fuck. So I had to buy something that can support it. A buddy of mine took me with him to buy a 55 inch tv around the same time. He paid like $4000. You can buy a really really nice 32inch for under $300 these days.

My Spectrum issue is I can barely get Wifi signal. I typically use my PS4 to go on youtube and shit and I am resetting the fucking wifi like once a day.

I get computers, I'm just out of the loop in home theater shit. I have no idea what a firestick is, I don't even know what tv channels exist any more. Shit's all just a jumbled mess to me. I just want to go on a rant about "back in my day" when tv made sense.Jmac Attack wrote:Man, I still cant even do a Sig properly. The firestick is insanely easy to figure out. It does all the work. I’m probably getting rid of Virgin TV soon. 300+ channels and we watch none of them.

I'm similar. My wife got a Roku as a Christmas present. Ever since, I've been a fan of the streaming sticks. At first I wanted nothing to do with it.Slaughterhouserock wrote:I get computers, I'm just out of the loop in home theater shit.
