That scene just made this slow boring ass movie worth my time :D
watch absurd (1981). it's a sort of sequel. and it's much better of the two, in my opinion. available on youtube. :P
It finished strong enough to give it a C+ if only the beginning wasn't such a snoozer. Last 30 minutes were superb

Here's one of my biggest shames: I've never seen the original Salem's Lot.

Other than David Soul as Ben Mears, it holds up pretty well (I just don't like Soul, especially in that role). Proves Tobe Hooper was underrated as a director, its window scenes are far creepier than the similar scenes in the 2004 redo. Mind, I actually like the 2004 version too, and go back and forth as far as which I prefer. They both have their pluses and minuses. Rob Lowe > David Soul

I definitely liked Rob Lowe's performance in the 2004 version. I don't have anything against Soul, though (Starsky and Hutch was a fantastic show, in my opinion), so I'll be interested to see what I think of him there.

Barring that shitty vampire rubber mask thing, once this got to the meat of the plot, there are actually some interesting ideas going on.

*as I type this, that awful rubber mask monster came back, lulz*

No where near as terrible as I heard, but not really good either. I much appreciate the actual practical FX work on the vamps (the one thing I really didn't like about the Fright Night remake was all the damn CGI), though when there was CGI it was pretty bad. I liked this Amy most out of all versions, and I kinda liked how it tried to deviate some with the story, but at the same time it could've just been it's own vampire story. This was the worst Peter Vincent; no charisma or presence.

The part where Eddie walks into the church and says "GodDamn! It's hot in here!" actually made me laugh out loud when I watched it when it came out. I still giggle thinking about it. Now mind you, I havent watched it since 1995 when it came out. I rented it with my ex fiance. I just remember that part lol.

Great film, great soundtrack. Probably my favorite Argento.
