I never heard of Tubi before I got a Roku stick, but I will fully admit their selection of horror is utterly fantastic, ads or not.zombie wrote:Jigsaw wrote:I have not, but I really like the poster they have up on IMDb, and the plot sounds fun, so I threw it into my "To Watch" list.zombie wrote:have you seen malatesta's carnival of blood?Jigsaw wrote:Such an astute eye.zombie wrote:like carrie and the exorcist.Jigsaw wrote:Now just imagine the movies that didn't make the cut.zombie wrote:a lot of obscure on that list. cool.
it's a little bit odd, but i liked it. on tubitv, if you don't mind a couple of ads during the film.

Is Carrie supposed to be good for the 70's or something? It was only ok at best IMO.Jigsaw wrote:Here is a list (not ranked, ordered by year) of horror movies from the 1970's I personally enjoy more than Carrie. I was asked to make a list of 75 movies - I made a list of 95, and probably could have gotten to 110, but I wanted to save time.
I did throw on the English titles also for the multiple foreign movies here.
Also, good call on Blood Freak and Death Bed. Underrated films.

it's usually on the lower end of the greats of the 1970s, as far as consensus seems to go. halloween, texas chain saw, the exorcist, suspiria.. and then somewhere after that, carrie. but i think it's #1 of the decade.Slaughterhouserock wrote:Is Carrie supposed to be good for the 70's or something? Zomb's fascination with female leads in movies and music does not go unnoticed!
Re: April 27th 2020
the four i mentioned, ahead of carrie also have female leads. that's not what this is about, honest.

I decided that the 2 franchises I will be marathoning this October will be Childs Play and Saw

Love both. I still haven't seen the newest Saw movie, so next time I go through the series, I'll finally get to it. Maybe by then, Spiral will be out.Tiggnutz wrote:I decided that the 2 franchises I will be marathoning this October will be Childs Play and Saw

Indeed. Blood Freak is goofy but fun, and Death Bed was surprisingly a lot better than I thought it'd be.

Re: April 27th 2020
Thought this was interesting. I wasn't the biggest fan of this movie, but watching this video makes me want to take another look at some point.
On a side-note, this guy examines a lot of horror movies, from Hostel, Wolf Creek, Brightburn, The Fog, the Maniac remake, to Candyman, Freddy vs. Jason, Midsommar and Lake Mungo. Definitely a lot of interesting content to look through.
