why is this always a thing? ten years from now, there will be some 2020 movies that simply wouldn't be made.Jason wrote:If Gran Torino is the latest Clint movie you've seen, then you haven't seen American Sniper?Jmac Attack wrote:What makes American Sniper with conservative ideology
? Because Kyle was a conservative? I'd say you can say Juno is a conservative themed movie. It has a pro life message and the teens being self sufficient.
As far as Clint Eastwood movies, his latest I've seen is Gran Torino. And it is a fave of mine. Not sure if it had conservative themes. Never thought about it. Seemed pretty neutral to me.
Some movies made ten years ago would simply not be able to be made today.

Seems like it would be disgusting to pretend it wasn’t an incredibly stupid thing to do. I’m trying to save lives here.Jason wrote:It is, but I'm not trying to silence you.Headhunter wrote:Great. We're at peak offensiveness. More people today are pretending to be offended now, more than they ever were before.zombie wrote:why is this always a thing? ten years from now, there will be some 2020 movies that simply wouldn't be made.Jason wrote:If Gran Torino is the latest Clint movie you've seen, then you haven't seen American Sniper?Jmac Attack wrote:What makes American Sniper with conservative ideology

Can't save lives in hindsight. I look forward to a potential shift in opinion on how to handle the COVID-19 pandemic.Headhunter wrote:Seems like it would be disgusting to pretend it wasn’t an incredibly stupid thing to do. There's this great book called The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck. I highly recommend it, but to break it down: you only have so many fucks to give in your life, so choose what you care about, and don't let the rest bother you. Otherwise, you'll lose your fucking mind.

no, we could go much worse than vocal minorities bitching and whining on twitter and television.Jason wrote:We're at peak offensiveness. It's a real book(link), and it is fairly good, though it does just boil down to what I said above.Jmac Attack wrote:I would read it!Slaughterhouserock wrote:There's this great book called The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck. I think one key thing is to compartmentalize the different parts of your life. Let them exist in their worlds to whatever extent they need to but don’t let them bleed over. Don’t bring your home stress into work and vice versa. Don’t bring any baggage into your entertainment consumption.Slaughterhouserock wrote:There's this great book called The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck. Re: May the 4th 2020
I mean, I prefer paperbacks, but for something like that I was hoping for the usual 3.99 kindle price I usually see.
Re: May the 4th 2020
i was curious about conservative movies.... and this is what i've found, so far.

2. Halloween (for rent via video-on-demand). Judy Greer’s character expertly and hilariously trolls the Left when she says her mom, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), is wrong to arm herself and prepare for the worst because, “The world is not a dark and evil place. It’s full of love and understanding!” The importance of armed individual self-defense, the fallen nature of man, the incompetence of state authorities, the necessity of capital punishment for evildoers, and even the vapidity of liberal true-crime podcasters all get ingeniously dramatized as Michael Myers goes on yet another rampage.
