So when my beliefs make me a racist, sexist, misogynistic, homophobic, rape-sympathizing, abhorrent cunt, they are not dismissed? Do you see the massive fucking double standard here yet?

Nope. It certainly isn’t a positive interaction but it’s not the same thing.

It would also be good for you to acknowledge why those interactions can get ugly. You do your part to escalate shit. You mock people. Taunt them. Call people names. You aren’t poor little Jason getting shouted down.

i don't think you're awful. i have fun, sometimes, with you around the board.

you dismiss my opinion, or point of view, as not self-formed. and yes, i do feel like that is worse than name-calling. because i can't tell you otherwise. i can't show that i'm not. because anything i say will just be further proof that i'm a sheep. it doesn't really leave me a lot of places to go from.

be more aware of how you go into a discussion?

can i ask something, that i tried to before? and don't get offended or feel cornered or something? let's have a real discussion without looking for daggers that aren't there?
I always have fun with you.

Can you give me an example of me saying that to you? Or am I saying something to someone else whose belief you share and took it to heart?

I do not offended or feel cornered. Remember, I have been on the receiving in of the awful shit. Also, it's important to note, the awful shit I've been on the receiving of is also dismissive of an opinion. It is both name-calling, and dismissive of my beliefs.
i know that i've bothered you sometimes.

i can't, verbatim. but you've told me that i'm just following the media blindly. i think most recently to do with the hydrochloroquine thing.

we've both been on the receiving end of awful shit regarding our morals and politics. so i'll ask again... you've told me more than once that "everyone loves me", you feel like that it's not true of you. so what are we doing differently, in that regard?

It's the same exact thing, only worse.

The interactions only get ugly with you, and occasionally Seb. That's it. I don't call people names, you do. I'm the fucking joke with a low IQ living on his tinfoil-hat planet. That's you saying that shit. Not me.

"Yeah, well, me saying you're a tinfoil hat wearing fuckface isn't a positive interaction but it's not the same thing"

shut up.

What double standard? There isn’t any double standard. We trade insults, that’s one thing. You tell other people they’re full of shit or can’t form their own opinions. That’s another thing. Unrelated. Not a double standard.

So? Doesn't change anything.

What are your beliefs on hydroxychloroquine?

It's still true of me just as it is for you. My opinion of politics is shamed pretty heavily and the root cause is because I support about 90% of what Trump does. The patterns add up. It gets heated. It is what it is. I've never bitched about it, until Head tried to make me out to be the only guy who's controversial in that way. I have received worse of it and never made a thing of it. Always started and ended with "I don't care what is said, I think less of none of you". Can't say the same for the others.

Jason, do you really view yourself as this nice, pleasant guy who is unfairly attacked for no reason? Do you actually think your brand of posting doesn’t frustrate and rub people the wrong way? Has it ever occurred to you that the way you interact with people is more responsible for the reactions you get than your politics? One of my best friends is a Trump supporter. We talk politics along with plenty of other shared interests. Somehow we always keep it light.

I don’t need to tell you why I’m not full of shit. That’s gross. You should have the social sense to not accuse people of being full of shit. You never see yourself as the asshole in an argument, do you?

no, just don't pretend like i'm always fun to be around.

don't make this into a political debate? but i think that it should be tested and certified in regard to it's effectiveness against covid before any recommendations by non-doctors are made.

i've been raked over the coals for my politics too, and i don't support trump. can we focus on you and me, and not what head may think or what he has said? unless your gripe with me is that i have some common ground, maybe, politically with him?

i do try to treat everyone respectfully, even when i am upset with them, or with their position on something (or both, at times)

Headhunter wrote:Jason, do you really view yourself as this nice, pleasant guy who is unfairly attacked for no reason?
NO. Never once did I say that. You accused me of being the bad guy and being a bully to people. I responded with me being on the receiving end of the literal WORST SHIT EVER SAID on this site. Now, not only do you retract from that and word it as "Being mean is not the same thing as calling someone disingenuous", you flat out put words in my mouth and say that I believe I'm attacked for no reason. Never once said that. Stop trying to work the argument in your favor.
Headhunter wrote:Do you actually think your brand of posting doesn’t frustrate and rub people the wrong way?
NO. Of course it does. IN THE POLITICS BOARD. We all behave shitty in here, and we all know it. Look at how we behave outside of this board. None of us rub each other the wrong way. 100% of this shit is politics.
Headhunter wrote:Has it ever occurred to you that the way you interact with people is more responsible for the reactions you get than your politics? One of my best friends is a Trump supporter. We talk politics along with plenty of other shared interests. Somehow we always keep it light.
Many of my greatest friends are liberals who hate Trump, too. We get along and talk politics constantly with plenty of shared interest, as well. We always keep it light as well. Stop making me out to be some scumbag.

Like, how can you be delusional enough to think someone owes it to you to defend themselves from a shitty thing you’ve said. How about don’t say the shitty thing? People like you are the worst kind of asshole because you can justify everything you do and think you’re the victim in every situation.

I'm not pretending. Why the hell would I pretend that?

Ok. No political debate. And that is a fair assessment, but Trump wouldn't get up on stage and recommend it if he didn't have a massive team of informative doctors working vigorously on this virus.

I said before I have no gripe with you. What in the hell is going on here?

Why do you think I say some of you might be disingenuous? You refuse to see my side and only want to see me as the bad guy. Your intervention is horse shit.
