Shifting gears on my query letters for my book. Got a 2nd rejection, but this one specified that it seemed more like Urban Fantasy. So now I figure I should look at agents that are looking for urban fantasy books (even though mine has no romance at all, something incredibly common in UF).

Drinking some wine, getting crunk, might watch some spookflicks later. All is that was.

Kind of depressing. We're taught to dream big, go big or go home, reach for the stars. And every meeting or thing I'm associated with now is about narrowing the focus, stop this, restrict that, you can't do shit. We'll not reach for anything, but bury your head into whatever is deemed safe. I hope it was worth it.

In business, when money's tight, it's always best to focus on what's bringing in the money rather than trying to grow/expand. Once things level out again, I'm sure you'll go back to being open to experimenting with new shit. Just gotta wait out the "down" period.Reign in Blood wrote:Kind of depressing.
