take them back! every general monster has been used to be teeny or romantic. you can make it cool and scary again.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Gotcha.Dream wrote:Violent sexual content of various varieties.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Why would most people hate them?Dream wrote:I've been working on a series of short stories and I actually kinda like 'em. Like, I know most people would hate them, but I like them and that doesn't usually happen.
Well, that and some of it is just super sappy.
But the reason most people would hate them is the violence mixed with sex stuff.
Plus, not all of it is straight so extra hate from a lot of people, lol.
Apparently I turn off potential readers just by the mere mentioning of vampires or werewolves, because so many shitty urban fantasy romance crap seems to have ruined them.

I still have Hellbound to watch but I thought it was a weak season. For some reason that Asian Iron man film has stuck with me just like Boggy Creek did and I disliked both but I feel a need to watch againDancesWithWerewolves wrote:At the end of this work week, I'm really sad there's no new Joe Bob tonight

this did feel like a weaker season. hogzilla, troma's war, tetsuo, scare package. mayhem, dead heat... enh.Tiggnutz wrote:I still have Hellbound to watch but I thought it was a weak season. I guess the whole point is to introduce little known films to the masses just like Monster Vision did in the early 90's so I should not be too disappointedzombie wrote:this did feel like a weaker season. hogzilla, troma's war, tetsuo, scare package. mayhem, dead heat... enh.Tiggnutz wrote:I still have Hellbound to watch but I thought it was a weak season. joe bob and darcy and the guests when they happen are always entertaining, despite some of the movies. i do hope we get a season 3.Tiggnutz wrote:I guess the whole point is to introduce little known films to the masses just like Monster Vision did in the early 90's so I should not be too disappointedzombie wrote:this did feel like a weaker season. hogzilla, troma's war, tetsuo, scare package. mayhem, dead heat... enh.Tiggnutz wrote:I still have Hellbound to watch but I thought it was a weak season. Well, yeah, I totally used them as monsters, I'm not stopping that I just think I'm getting ignored by agents (who don't want to be called Gatekeepers, yet they're totally gatekeeping) because of this.zombie wrote:take them back! every general monster has been used to be teeny or romantic. you can make it cool and scary again.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Gotcha.Dream wrote:Violent sexual content of various varieties.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Why would most people hate them?Dream wrote:I've been working on a series of short stories and I actually kinda like 'em. Re: 6-26-20
Even with those duds (especially Hogzilla), I still have fun tuning in. Was nice to look forward to for a while there.

Meh, the people that want to read your stuff will. I hate that writing has to be commercialized to be profitable. I know someone who has gotten signed to a writing contract with a publisher and she's just retelling old myths. Nothing new or interesting about it, just another rehash of safe stories.
90% of why I think people would hate what I've been writing is because a lot of the stories are built on toxic relationships. Not all of them, some are just mushy smut, but a large percentage of them are morally questionable and a lot of people would be incredibly offended by them. None of these were written with the intent of people reading them (but I have shown a few people and so far have gotten the best review of one that involves a couple of serial killers.) so I used them as a cathartic writing journey to clear my head of shit. The more I wrote, the better I felt. They are essentially everything I shouldn't do as a writer, and I kind of love that, lol.
I started an erotic writing podcast with a friend
