Dog Soldiers is overrated from what I can remember. I'd give it another chance though.

While I agree, overrated =/= unwatchable. It's still pretty decent.

Side note, I never actually knew about August and "Dog Days of Summer" connection.

I'm down with Dog Soldiers. I'll keep an open mind while watching it. I didnt hate it. I was just disappointed because of the hype. But my tastes have evolved since then.
