I'm a New Yorker every year on this day.

Any September 11th stories you guys care to share? What you were doing, how you were impacted?

Such a moving video. I always get a little bit emotional every time I watch it. Thinking about all those hard workers spending countless hours rebuilding, rebuilding, rebuilding and making an unimaginable structure. United we stand, divided we fall. Love this country and all the citizens. Even you crazy libs! :D

From a certain angle, it looks like a giant middle finger to terrorism.

Think it was just a day in high school in Kobe. Watched it happen on TV in the dorm with Sasha and Stephen. Teachers were way more distressed than we were. Although I recall Amy was also more distressed than me. The more fascinating thing was the aftermath which lead to a as then relatively unknown Alex Jones video circulating about how it was planned which always felt odd but was interesting to see people grasp something to make it sensible.

How the fuck do you leave out the character the fucking thing is named after? Yes, it's a prequel series showing the rise of the corporate assholes in the first film, but still, shit idea.
What the fuck. That’s the dumbest shit ever.

I know Jiggy is celebrating somewhere.

I remember: first morning with my first serious girlfriend, and we wandered out into the living room with that on the TV. I felt like I jinxed the country by getting to 2nd base :P

I was home trying to get in touch with my dad. He worked for Northrop Grumman and had regular meetings at the Pentagon. Turned out he was on his way there but his meeting was on the opposite side so there would've been no danger to him. But a few stressful hours there of not knowing.

should art be judged by clips out of context and called for boycott, or should art be judged as a whole? (whether that be song, film, tv episode, novel etc) should the intent and message of the piece be taken into account or should we just jump to a conclusion and judge the whole by any single part that we object to within it?

I'm not an art guy, but as far as I'm concerned, context matters in all things. Damn near anything can have its meaning changed without context. You see it all the time in movies/tv as a way of creating conflict. Someone hears something mid-conversation, takes it the wrong way, hilarity/drama ensues. In real life, you just have to look at twitter to see how everything is taken out of context to suit someone's agenda.

Out of context pretty much = bad in all cases, imo.

My two oldest were at school. I was home with Gabby, who was just two months shy of her first birthday. I remember holding my hands over my mouth and saying, "Oh my GOD!!" over and over as I watched Flight 175 hit the south tower on TV. I can't even describe how I felt watching that. Still can't. God bless all of the 9/11 victims, and the families/friends.

Presuming this is relating to the cancel Netflix thing where they’ve taken an award winning film about the harmful and damaging effect of hypersexualizing children, said it’s bad because it’s hypersexualizing children, and never realized the irony. It’s not miles from suggesting Spielberg is a Nazi because he included them in Schindler’s List.
