I guess the one I am watching now (The Magician) for the second time, is better at imagery, there is more of that than reading, although I never had trouble reading, I even like it. I think what I might notzombie wrote:how much are the ones you're able to tolerate using atmosphere and imagery over plot and dialogue?flyingspider wrote:I am beginning to find that I can better tolerate some silent films over others, and even like those. like is the music in some. Nosferatu is a classic, as we all know, but I drug myself through that one. It was ok, just not something I will watch again. That could be it.

One of the best things about a silent movie is you rarely have to worry about volume fluctuation, lol. Less annoying that way!

Speaking of silent films, about to start up the 1926 classic Faust: Eine deutsche Volkssage. Haven't seen this one in many moons, so here's hoping it's as decent as it should be.

I am not sure even I would call The Horror of it all a horror movie, but as long as IMDB does, that is all that matters, (and they do).

So the 1914 Der Hund von Baskerville, which was up on full on YouTube, was going to be my next movie (and one that I was deeply excited about seeing), but the account that put the movie up has been terminated. Copyright laws are bullshit, and support your local streaming sites.

Started watching Camp Twilight, which I suspect will be released later this year. Got a digital screener from Chucky (Fight Evil), and we'll be talking about this on our show this Friday.

The Shining
Never been a huge fan but watching Doctor Sleep last month (great movie) made me want to revisit this.

About to start up the Syfy original The Night Before Halloween (2016)
Let's hope this is one of their better originals.

I love the Shining! What is it that you dont like about it? I thought the late 90s tv one was really good too. I need to revisit that one. I gotta watch Doctor Sleep.Monster wrote:The Shining

Mostly it's Kubrick's style. Too surreal for my taste.Jmac Attack wrote:I love the Shining! What is it that you dont like about it? I thought the late 90s tv one was really good too. I need to revisit that one. I gotta watch Doctor Sleep.Monster wrote:The Shining

Unfortunately for King, I preferred Kubrick's changes, and I thought the TV movie was a good example why.Tiggnutz wrote:I love it but after reading the book I wish it had been done differentlyMonster wrote:Mostly it's Kubrick's style. All 3 main girls are hot, but I have obvious bias towards Daddario lol.
For the most part, they've done a better effort looking like the 80's than the Motley Crue movie
