Watching Argento's Opera (1987) for the first time. Next expecting something up to Deep Red's level, but competing with Inferno would be nice.

Opera is Argento's last good film as far as I'm concerned, and it's damned good. Also, Steel Grave on the soundtrack, so good.

I didn't think Trauma was half-bad, but I can certainly tell this was a lot better.

opera is on the level of phenomena or tenebrae. but then i don't take inferno as anything near a favorite. so maybe we're not on the same argento scale.

I've actually not yet seen either Phenomena or Tenebrae, but thanks for the comparison.

The amount of ads on Crackle is fucking infuriating. I'm only 46 minutes into the movie, but it's been well over an hour since I started.
