The plan all along was to pay for it with tax increases. Keep expanding it and pumping money into it until they can justify a government takeover. Tha is their goal with everything.

Well it's put up or shut up time for the Dems now. They got on their hands and knees begging for an opportunity to sit at the table, and now they'll probably get it. Based on track record, no reason for real optimism but the cloak and dagger shit of the last decade needed to end all around.
When you create a bill at lunch and try to shove it through to the House that night, pretty clear they just don't want to deal with this anymore. I have always said Republicans talking a big game about taking over health care would eventually be political suicide.
