I've heard Dunkirk is racist.
Re: Top 10 War Movies
Well, I was outraged and disappointed that a black, transsexual midget wasn't cast. Other than that though...

Re: Top 10 War Movies
It's weird, this thread has made me come to realize that while I really dig War movies, outside of a handful, I have only watched many of them once. And of some I have watched multiple times, I don't consider them faves/top-10 (Full Metal Jacket, Apocalypse Now ).

Granted, we know half of zombie's list doesn't count, but does Troy? If so, that is getting some super adhesive splooge for that underrated gem.
Re: Top 10 War Movies
Schindler's List is supposed to be the undisputed GOAT war movie. But it's on nobody's list except for Seb's. lol.

The Deer Hunter is a true fence straddler, for me. Way the hell above Schindler's List, but also in the Born on the 4th of July territory of being about the aftermath of the war.

The POW stuff is legit but how much weight does it carry? Questionable for me looking back on my list.Reign in Blood wrote:The Deer Hunter is a true fence straddler, for me. Braveheart is associated with a very unpleasant period in my life. Can't watch it. Lame explanation, but there it is.Reign in Blood wrote:MX, Kingdom of Heaven but no Braveheart? I need some explanation of this shit.

Now I want you to remember that no bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country!zombie wrote:i've had patton for a while, but never actually watched it yet. probably should.

Can't believe I didn't think of Brothers or American Sniper. Those are probably #1 and #2 honestly.
