Spurred on by Jason, I took an early morning trip to Wal-Mart, and spent a bit on DVD's that caught my eye.
Here's what I picked up:
1) Easy A (2010)
2) Fight Club (1999)
3). Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954) - Glow-in-the-dark slipcase
4) Tremors (1990) - Glow-in-the-dark slipcase
5) Halloween II (1981) - Glow-in-the-dark slipcase
6) Poltergeist (1982) - Cool painted slipcase
7) Final Destination 1-5 (Entire series, for just under ten dollars - felt it was worth it)
8) The Fog (1980) - Jason's right - this cover is excellent.
9) The Babadook (2014)
10) Frankenstein (1931) - Glow-in-the-dark slipcase
11) Pumpkinhead (1988) - Don't know how to explain the cover, but I thought it was damn cool.
12) Leprechaun 1-6, Leprechaun Origins - The seven Leprechaun movies (I really don't think Origins counts, but whatever) for under eight dollars. have not seen either Leprechaun in Space or Origins.
13) Dead Silence (2007) - Never seen this one, but for four dollars, I thought it might be worth the risk.
14) Hidden (2015) - Don't know much about this one - will watch for the first time in October.
15) Cabin 28 (2017) - Never heard of this one before - it still has under 100 ratings on IMDb. Though it cost ten dollars, I thought why not.
So a total of 25 movies.
23 are horror. Five will be first-time viewings thrown into October.

Whoawhoawhoa. Like a true asshole you spent a shit load of money at Wal-Mart? Learn from my mistakes! :p
That Dracula slip cover is p. bitchin' too, though. Indeed glows in the dark. Winning buy, as I didn't own Dracula, yet. They didn't have Halloween II at my Wal-Mart. Hmph. I might've bought it for the Glow in the Dark slip case. They had Ghost & Mr. Chicken, though.
But I already own that masterpiece.

That's about 15 bucks saved.
There was an issue when she was scanning the DVDs and it stopped her from scanning because it needed I.D. approval since you needed to be over 17 to buy some of these movies. She must've scanned Dracula and Graveyard Shift before realizing I needed to be I.D.'d.
Funny you mention that. That happened to me too on Sunday. Bought three movies, only charged for two because they checked my ID before I apparently scanned the third one. I didn't find out until I got home.
That said, the next day, I let someone know, and paid it then, since you know, I work in that store. :p
What is this non-sense? I bought all kinds of horror/R-rated movies as a wee lad, no one cared I was under 17. I know music and video games were bigger gestapo nazis, don't recall this with movies (outside of theaters of course).

When I was in my early teens I used to ride my bike to Hollywood video and rent all the horror titles on VHS. Never got I.D.'d, nobody gave a fuck. It's how I got to see all the Friday/Nightmare/Halloween flicks. Sleepaway Camp, Evil Dead, etc... The majority of my first viewings of all the major horror franchises were from renting them at Hollywood Video. I wanted to work there so bad. :p

Ah yes, the Scream Factory art. I've got this one. Their art can be hit or miss, depending on the artist they hire, but this was one of the good ones. I also like their Escape From New York art.

Same here, except Blockbuster or Mom and Pop shops (never had a Hollywood Video in bike riding proximity), never a problem. I know buying music was definitely tougher, where we'd have to peel off the parental advisory sticker to get it through, or if it was on the CD itself try and slip it through with other shit. Worked 90% of the time. When it didn't, it was back home and "Mom, Dad, which one of you wants to take me to get the new 2 Live Crew CD! Loves ya!".

Nope. The realistic band for that analogy would be like Pantera or summat. But for a real 2 Live Crew story, my mom was oblivious to them until we got Sirius radio in the Caddy. Pop that Pussy came on and I cranked it, she was laughing her ass off. She's all "I know you don't listen to this shit" and I'm like "All day, everyday!" and she counters "Fuck off, you do not!". And I'm like "Well, if Metallica covered it could be..." "They won't so just shut up and drive, idiot"
If I really wanted it, she would have bought 2 live crew for me when I was a kid. I will take all the horror and action movies, though.

The Babadook is clearly one of the better horror movies in recent time, which is why all of you bitches are feeling threatened by it.

Haven't seen it, but Milligan's early 1970's work is pretty fun.
