Behind by about three movies, so I'm going to have to pick it up over the next week if I'm going to be able to reach 90.

I love the sound of wind and thunder in these old movies. It's somehow very cozy.

Amber hated that one. I enjoyed it. It's not an A+ movie , but it's really good. Not sure how I would grade it. Probably a B- or B+. I need to watch it again. I wasn't even bothered by John Leguizamo being in it. We both can't stand him and his talking out of the side of his mouth.

(I will feel horrible if I find out he is paralyzed on one side of his mouth lmao)

44. Hereditary (2018) A+
47. The Evil Dead (1981) A
Question. I have a hard time with modern flicks and 70s/80s flicks rankings. The old era was so loaded with excellence that anything less than a 4/5 on my rankings is fairly rare, whereas it's the opposite with newer flicks, where anything 4/5 or higher is really rare. But when you get a great modern movie and give it a high grade rating, is it then on par with older movies that get the exact same ranking?

Example: Did you feel so good about Hereditary that you just wanted to give it a great rating, or do you genuinely think it's better than The Evil Dead?...

Modern movies are at a disadvantage automatically by being new, they don't get the time to stew and simmer to see if they hold up over time or aged terribly.

Yeah that probably is the best answer it's easier to get the A+ the day I first see a movie than say 30 years later. I was absolutely blown away by Hereditary but I watch it next year maybe it drops 2 grades who knows.

I felt that way about Insidious. Loved it, consider it like top 20 all time, and while I still dig the hell out of it, it aintnowhere near my top 20. Lol.

I ignore the sequel as far as canon, because all the shit they added part two with everything tying together kinda ruined the indredible mystique of the first one.
