Coach doesn't count against the cap. Not really a fair comparison.
I think knowing Mack's final contract demand would be interesting.
I know that.
Coach's money coming from somewhere.

Pats do it all the time.
13 pass attempts over 10 yards downfield this week.

I think there’s room for shorter “take what they give you” passes, but still.

14 for Brady, actually.

If a defense thinks you pose no threat to attack them downfield, DBs will squat on short routes and completely shut down your offense. I remember the Colts did this vs. Peyton in a playoff game. So Peyton kept trying to throw bombs downfield to Sanders and couldn't hit anything. It was horrible.

I was actually going to ask the average, as it was dwindling downward every year, league wide.
Remember there used to be a route called the deep post that was used for more than just running defenders out of a zone?
After looking at a few QBs from a few different offensive systems/trees, looks like about 40% of attempts are 10+ yards downfield. Lower than 25% in a game seems to be extremely rare.

Wide open Gronk for an 11 yard throw on the left side and a 28 yard run after catch.
I'm impressed.

There are levels to evaluating talent that you've yet to reach, HeadwardSan.

To be fair, it's not easy to get that low.

Dude, that's an awful comeback. And mine was mediocre to begin with. Come on...

I hold the same standard for every QB.
Context matters. :ugeek:

I feel like I've posted "average yards of separation" stats for WRs too that showed Pats WRs were closer to the bottom of the league than the top.
I'm out here in these HMF streets slaying narratives. Van Helsing for bad takes.

You realize, esquire, that your superior talent evaluation would lead someone who doesn't know any better to the conclusion that the Patriots consistently have the most stacked god-given talented receiver corps year after year, and should play that god damn Creed song on every play, right?

Maybe they should know better.
I could get into Pats shadiness if you want.
