I'm not surprised. California has been mismanaged from the beginning but it's especially ramped up progressively over the past 50 or so years. For everything the state offers it's a shame the state of the infrastructure and how little vision there is. No matter what, bumpkin country will still be in trouble though. That's true of every state and an uncomfortable reality everywhere.

In Ohio, the rural towns and small cities are horrible. Nothing but drugs and homeless white people who blame Obama. But here I am, a liberal, doing pretty fucking good. Haha

That those people continue to vote Republican is fucking insane. I understand why a lot of people vote Republican, but when poor rural people do, that honestly blows my mind. They have no clue what they’re doing and are slowly killing off their own communities. Fucked up.
