He fell way back with that favorable review for Alien: Resurrection :P

It's decentish. It's not as sharp as Devil's Rejects, and more coherent than House of 1000 Corpses. Missing Sid is a big issue, but understandable regarding his health, and I really would have preferred Richard Brake to just play Doomhead again rather than his new character that seemed half assed, merging 31 into the universe. The gore's good, it was nice seeing Dee Wallace play a against her usual casting type. Sheri-Moon has gotten better as an actress, I think people just can't get past her shrill voice. I gave it a B- last month, I still feel it's an appropriate grade.

I would say that of all Sheri's shitty performances this was by far the worse it's so bad it moved into causing me physical irritation and suffering. This is complete honesty, in my opinion she is the worst actor/actress I have ever seen in a major motion picture.

well, twenty minutes left. i like the creativity in the visuals. but for some reason it didn't pull me in, like the way other similar visual heavy films have, like lost highway or mandy and the like.
Could you make heads or tails of the camera beard guy subplot? That seemed to vanish into thin air

Also, have you ever noticed so many different camera close ups of eyes and the like. That felt like they really went close on so many shots.

i had the same thought. the narrative was far less important than the imagery.

no, can't say that i have. if there was more to tie together the visuals, i think it could have been pretty cool.

It almost acts as a series of dreams/ideas woven loosely together under the guise of a plot. But I think that’s the frustration of the film for me. It felt like it either could be more anthological or it needed to cohere a few of the strands. Fundamentally the best scenes and sequences, are not all serving the same direction.

I definitely think the visuals were a cut above an average film. They definitely had a good plan for looks.

I have not. Might have to now, be interesting to see. Wonder if Prime has one.

i think let the corpses tan is on prime. not sure if it's horror or not though.

A.M.I.

Pretty weird slasher-like techno-horror. Good use of a phone.

Daeg Faerch is in this. His acting didn't seem quite this atrocious in Halloween.
